And of course, me getting 10,000 people to play crysis on it all at once.

Filefront was a terrible host that hosted terrible garbage.
Megaupload/sendspace is 100x better.

Megaupload/sendspace is 100x better. Did it really? Wonder why I and many others never saw that.. Only thing what I can say is bad in FileFront was the bad file name order, they wasn't really in alphabet order..

And of course, me getting 10,000 people to play crysis on it all at once. I don't quite understand your post Miles... except the lag bit, well this is a video that describe what the actual service is: http://www.destructoid.com/gdc-09-playi ... 6223.phtml to sum up the first ten minutes: woo technology, regular video compression laggy, our compression method is not laggy, the latency for the video information to be compressed is just "one millisecond", "runs on entry level pcs, macs & tv" required connection bandwidth: "-SDTV 1.5Mbps" "-HDTV 5Mbps". Then he actually starts using the program after that

Really? That sucks. It is the best file sharing site out there.
*sigh*
Guess I'll have to fall back to fileplanet...

You get about a latency*2 amount of lag between controller input and screen return. From what I've heard, it seems like they have claimed to beat the speed of light with some "trademark algorithm". Bandwidth != Latency. Compression boosts bandwidth. Not latency. Beating Latency to >1ms as they claim would require putting the server in the area of the player's own home. Or using quantum devices. For my file sharing, I just use mediafire. It's slow at upload, but okay at download. Not as fast as filefront, but an okay replacement.

Re: Bye, Bye Filefront ;_;
Mediafire doesn't have everything organized and easily searchable, though.

I always got good speeds from this place, with them gone, it's back to 12kb/sec or "borrowing" accounts for premium download sites.
Fileplanet kicks Filefront's ass, any day. If you bother to pay $3 a month for access to almost everything, that is

Translated from internet idiot to English/American: Fileplanet is to file hosting sites what Runescape is to MMOs, and Filefront is like the World of Warcraft, except free. And fun. And useful. I hope it comes back soon.
