I got Linux installed back on my computer, but now I have no way of getting back to Vista.
I try to edit menu.ltx or whatever, and it says it's read-only, so I have no way of booting to Vista now.

I need to be the root account, but I never got the chance to make one or anything.

Re: I just broke the ♥♥♥♥ outta my computer add yourself to the group "root" from the user management tool, then go to menu.lst and edit that ♥♥♥♥♥ to include windows (google around for how to do this), so grub actually has something to load.
in formatting your ubuntu partition, you managed to remove all the grub files. you might want to install grub into another partition..

After I get back to Vista I'm going to backup all my files and format, which was the original plan, I think. Edit: User management tool?
