^^ I would have to agree that that seems the most likely thing now. Honestly, WHAT else could possible cause it..

Ok, posting to let you all know I fixed it.
Turns out the heat sink/fan I replaced it with was also broken. Got a new one, put that in, CORRECTLY applied thermal compound, and now It's idling at 35.

So yes, Pyrorex you were right.

OT: New computer just got built. Yays. Going to mod the ♥♥♥♥ out of it.
