If a guy who lived in Alaska complained about a snowstorm, you'd ask him why he lived in Alaska, wouldn't you? On a semi-related note, New Orleans should be turned into only an industrial port with no year-round residents. Yeah New Orleans has been continuously ♥♥♥♥ these last few years, it's time to abandon the shitty city. Move Mardi Gras to like... ♥♥♥♥ I donno Alabama.

What you you do If a Great Mutant Horrercian was coming towards you. Could any of you live for 24 hours without power. ROACHES CRALWED ALL OVER ME IN KATRINA! THEY WERE EVERYWHERE!!!!
What would u do? There's a lot of people here that live in florida. You're a pussy if you can't live without power for a day. I lived without power for like a week when we got pounded repeatedly by hurricanes in their FINAL FORM. It was like HEAVEN OR HELL and then I won.

Personally, I'd stand there and take it. What else is there to do? You can;t out-run hundred mile and hour winds...
And btw, I went like 24 hours without power. I just went on a bikeride.

Try and go bikeriding in a hurricane. The winds can put a ♥♥♥♥ 2x4 through a tree. Hurricanes suck end of story. My suggestion is buy a battery powered lantern and a good book.

I stand by my previous positions. 1. Consider, if possible and if there's not too much bother, moving to an area that's not so hurricane-y. North Carolina is quite nice, from what I hear; I dunno about real estate prices, though. Or move to Kansas, if you don't mind being landlocked. 2. New Orleans should not be a populated city.

Re: A Hurricane is about to hit My House
Kansas = tornadoes.
I live in Texas, we went 3 days without power from Katrina (yeah, i know). We watched cable t.v. that was plugged into my mom's car, and I finished a model... It was actually pretty fun.
My suggestion: put everything you need/want to survive in plastic baggies for when it floods. Then lay on your roof and get a tan until help arrives or the water goes down.

People live in the ♥♥♥♥ Sahara, the Arctic, on top of ♥♥♥♥ mountains. We're pretty adaptable people. Nawlins happened because of poorly built safeguards.

Re: A Hurricane is about to hit My House
Teeheehee. I live in Australia. Sure, we get hurricanes (we call them (tropical) cyclones) but not where I live. Only in the very northern parts.
The most scary weather we get is the occasional flooding of woggaloggaloggaboogyboogybah. Worst I've ever seen was a large thunderstorm.
Considering you live in a notorious area for hurricanes, haven't you got an emergency plan? If you don't, you probably should for the next one.

Given that it's practically impossible to live in an area where there's no risk of natural disasters, I think that would be a pretty dickheaded thing to do.

I wouldn't worry due to the fact that it is now a CATAGORY 1 HURRICANE!!! It isn't a big deal anymore.

Re: A Hurricane is about to hit My House
Yeah, sure humanity is adaptable, but seriously, it's better to live somewhere where ♥♥♥♥ like say giant storms doesn't happen as often. You could survive by only taking in fluids every day or so for a while, but if you could avoid that, why wouldn't you? You could drive around in a 1980's Toyota on the wrong side of the road, but again, if avoidable, why take the risk?
