Re: red alert 3!!
The advanced graphics are what made RA2 good. Using 3d is just an excuse to be less detailed.

Indeed, Generals looked horrible. But...Numgun...Kane IS tied directly to the Red alert universe...

It's a pity that EA have no idea what so ever as to continuity and game design. ..whoa wait, but that guy was just some greek commander who was working for the alliance. I do remember the scene with him telling the privates to gtfo so he'd bury stalin with the large rock after what he walked 10m from him and did a /victory. Im a bit confused now... how on earth was that kane? : C

Re: red alert 3!!
old news is old, but honestly I am both exited and nervous about the new water game play. I think that in RA2 the water junk was not really good, and now they're basing a large portion of the conflict on it I'm kinda scared. Also, dispite anything I still love a game that make me harvest ♥♥♥♥, as it's awesome. Also
RED ALERT 1 WAS BETTER THAN RED ALERT 2 AND YURI'S REVENGE WAS IN ALL CAPS.

First of all, <3 Capt'n Bubs!
CoH is perhaps the best rts (imo) to come out in years. And DoW2 looks epic, that being said... I don't expect much from Red Alert 3, honestly it was never the game play that drew me to the CnC games but the Setting and the cheesy ass cut scenes and what not. I shall enjoy this one as well.
^ did the shameless plug for DoW2 fit?
Cheers-

Re: red alert 3!!
Red Alert 3 looks pretty awesome, but EA better listen to their fans more, and maybe even contact former Westwoodees and get some input on design, because...well they're whoring C&C, and if you're gonna ladylike, at least do it well for Christ's sake.

I like the tutorial missions because they gave you limited amount of guys to stuff. But the first level of the campaign they give you the entire freaking army and at least 2 fronts to fight on.

Re: red alert 3!!
EA have taken this the wrong way IMO, Red Alert 1 was fairly serious, RA2 was nicely cheesy, RA3 SHOULD have followed on and kept the cheesy B movie seriousness - instead they just go all out cheesy. Also, Japan get the "King Oni Mech"? Who the heck wants Japan in on this? I like stomping the crap out of the russians for christs sake!

Re: red alert 3!!
Perhaps we better wait until the game's actually out before commenting on its storyline. I for one will enjoy the game immensely even if the storyline sucks because I hardly pay attention to such things. If the gameplay is fun and not tedious (I'm looking at you, Rise of Legends), it'll be a good game in my book.
I will say one thing about RA2's (YR, that is) storyline: They really made a bad mistake. Time travel with a time machine. Wasn't the entire point of RA1's intro that Einstein had traveled back in time with the Chronosphere? Why would he need another time machine? Time machines are also bad business in terms of how they work. Did the events of vanilla RA2 simply happen alongside the events of YR (when back in time)? Did the TT'ing change any events from your perspective in the midst of the vanilla RA2 campaign? Agh, time travel, the bane of the logical storyline.
