It is now! For a while you couldn't.

Unfortunately you can only build one square at a time, which is tedious. Also, dwarves can't construct diagonally so generally you have to do corners first. You can build towers if you have the patience.

Thanks mate.
But I have another question, I have a butcher dwarf(kind of), a butcher shop and a cow signed for slaughter.
Do I have to do anything else?
It's been past summer, autumn and it's about midle of the winter but the cow hasn't been slaughtered and is missing...

Press Q, select the butcher shop, and queue the task to butcher meat.

Actually I think it's automatic. It should be. Does the cow appear on the animal list? If so you can find it, if not it either already got slaughtered and you just didn't notice or it died some other way.

I think it get killed when a kobold apeared, but it's happening with my donkey, it's very weird.
Oh something new, the elfen caravan appeared and I accidentally seized their goods.
Can I expect a war next year?

I did that for a couple years in a row to no luck. BTW they never declare war on you - war isn't implemented - but they'll chill outside your fortress with bows for a while and then leave.

Inventory is "i".

You should be able to select it.

Are your hands full?

You might have to unequip your old weapon first.

Suggestion: throw it at a goblin.
Edit: Or be lame and press p or something to put it away.

I went with a compromise... I threw it at the nearest guard :D ...He got mad and shot at me, but I threw a guy's head and it somehow broke the guard's skull and killed him.
That was fun.
Also attempting to put it away says: "You have no suitable container."

What do you have against adventure mode?
I think it's rather fun.

It's really fun but just not developed at all which means there's lots of silly stuff like you can't put your weapons away but you can lick people's heads.
