just enjoy the ♥♥♥♥ game
That's the point. TLoU, like few games before it, is more about an experience than just playing to have fun. "Enjoy the game" is something you say in regards to Mario or Call of duty where the game's not trying to do anything beyond be fun. It's too shallow an interpretation for a game like this.
Sothe well it's not like I have insider access to the ND development team so they may very well have changed some things in response to the popularity of TWD.
Speaking of Namco Bandai, teaser for the new Ace Combat.
Looks like it's still set in the real world instead of Strangereal. Mildly disappointed by that, but if they go back to classic mechanics I'll be happy.

I want Strangereal back too. ISAF for life. I started playing Ace Combat back in number four, which had a great cinematic intro.
I hope they go back to Strangereal, it's more interesting than doing them in the damn real world.
EDIT : Wait a second. 0:36, mobius strip and a few seconds later what looks like an F-22? Mobius One?

I quite liked AC4's narrative slides, it was a very interesting outsider perspective of the war. Made it a lot less cliche "good guys vs bad guys" when you saw the enemies were just regular people.
AC5 had those gorgeous CGI scenes though.

The Last of Us' enemy AI from your description seems reminiscent of FEAR's. They'd to similar stuff, like spot flashlights, attempt flanks, regroup, make tactical retreats, etc. And I was referring to the dramatic and atmospheric similarities of TWD and TLUS, not so much the goals and core gameplay. Also the Walking Dead has been in existence for nearly ten years, but the show really spiked its popularity through the roof, and it aired in 2010. The game was more of a response to the demand for the franchise. In retrospect, it probably didn't have much of an impact on TLUS initially; however, it was kept secret until recently. For all we know, they could've took note of the popularity of TWD in mid-production. Game companies and teams make drastic style changes to compensate for popular trends. This is quite common in the media industry, even in gaming; the Medal of Honor franchise, Saints Row 1, the Silent Hill franchise, and the Duke Nukem Forever franchise are such examples. I don't think TLUS is as bad as DNF, let alone bad in the first place (its probably great), I just couldn't help but notice lots of translucent market antics going on in the sidelines.
Ultimately, the finished product will be the subject of its authenticity, and the gamers its judge. I don't even own a PS3, so take my post lightly (except the marketing part)
yeah. ok. who cares about all this high-class bull♥♥♥♥. just enjoy the ♥♥♥♥ game.
Philistine alert. People are just as entitled to critiquing games as they are playing them.
You're being a real tool today. I explicitly stated that I was judging the game based on its marketing presence. And keep in mind that I was keeping an open mind about the game. Mood: Annoyed
