The point is active large fanbases get a lot of hate from people who don't enjoy or actively refuse the shared interest of the fanbase, mostly due to the inevitable extremists formed in any large group of people.

I find it funny that you guys are using autism to describe a fanbase of a show about friendship and compassion.

People criticize each other because of how prejudice they are known for, it's natural. It's not right either but people deal with it. People gain a reputation for what they are interested and not for who they are, attitude goes along with this as well. When people react negatively to whatever criticism they receive it only reinforces their reputation.

I have 4chan to blame for my use of the word "♥♥♥♥♥♥" (which autocorrect thinks should be "gaggle") and the BIG BAD N WORD which shouldn't be as big or bad as it is. Also my tendency to replace the word too or two with a larger number. This also happens with other numbers or number-like words representing things like 4 instead of for.

If you are constantly around a word being used in casually and frequently, then it will at some level imprint upon you. 2 years ago I was uptight as ♥♥♥♥ about the N word and ♥♥♥♥♥♥, and now after I've changed schools to an entirely different environment I feel much differently. I don't sling them as insults of course, but I'm no longer afraid to say them in casual conversation.

Yes, other people can leave an imprint on you, but it is your fault if you continue to act that way in another context.

As you mentioned, you're no longer afraid to use those terms in casual conversation, but you also don't use them as insults. That's not how a lot of "internet culture" works — in most places, if it's okay to say "♥♥♥♥♥♥," it's also okay to call somebody else a ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Evidently you think differently than 4chan does.

Plus, if you're on a forum, you have infinite time to sit and think over your post before you hit submit. If you're aware of the fact that 4chan has had an impact on how you write, you should be equally able to locate the parts where it has and edit them.

Maybe you can "blame" 4chan for changing how you think of things, or which words come to mind, but honestly, once you've typed them out and formed a sentence, whatever you're posting is on you.
