I almost shot someone Well I think I should mention this because this is my favorite forum but my older brother's best friend walked in the house (he's allowed too) but no one was home but me, so I got into my dad's room and grabbed my bolt action 30-06 and loaded a bullet into the chamber (mag wasn't on so I had to directly load it) because I heard a knife come out, so I was aiming my gun down our flight of stairs and I saw him and he was like "♥♥♥♥ don't shoot!"
So I released the breath I was holding and I was like "Kris you almost got shot by you're best friends older brother"
then he said "yeah no ♥♥♥♥ I had a knife I thought someone was robbing your house" (and by the way my 30-06 can pinpoint a milk jug from like over 400 yards away) so I just thought I should post this little event that could have turned really bad.

Re: I almost shot someone you're both idiots, if you're seriously willing to shoot to kill a home invader announce your presence because depending on what state you're in you would have been subject to criminal penalties if you actually did shoot someone, even if they were illegally entering your (parent's) home
fun fact: in some states it's actually better to shoot to kill rather than wound because you might owe them for medical coverage if you wound them
also this thread is not going to create any useful discussion.

Grif if it was a home invader I would have shot him in the head, and if I hurt him then I would have finished the job, I'm not gonna get stuck with medical expense for some house burglar, I now my rights, and I know I have a right to shoot a home invader no matter what state I live in.
