Post Burn A Koran: Oh man....
So not sure if you guys have been following the news but the guys down in the bumkin-belt of the US have decided that they were going to burn some Korans, in protest against "Terrorism" (note: NOT Islam). The UN, 10 different countries, and Interpol have been condemning/warning the 50 member strong church group to not do it.

So after a brief firefight of jellybeans and homemade apple pies, the people over in NY have decided to change locations of the mosque they were planning on building in?/near? the zero site.
And so the good red-necks decided to call off their little bonfire.

By the by, did you notice that he calls them "Mosslums"? Oh man. Crazy American accent ftw.
Upon reflection, it would be nice if WW3 actually did start, then I could actually have a reason to join the Marines.

Anyways, their pastor is now going to NY to discuss with the "Mosslums" about the re-location of the mosque.

Discuss.

Oh yea, also I got 50$ that says Terry Jones is a joke. And when I first saw the article on this, I first read it as "Burn a Korean" since I didn't think anyone was stupid enough to actually try to burn the Koran.

What do you guys think?

EDIT: Ok so I forgot the links to the earlier articles but this is the most current one from BBC which is, if I might add, more legit than Fox News or whatever the hell you Americans read these days.

Wanna cite some sources? Not because I'm a stickler for that sorta thing, but more so I can see where you're getting this.

I've said it once and I will say it again that the entire church group and everybody who supports them should be sterilized for the benefit of the human race.

I think they should've used a bit more common sense in the first place, because you'd have to be retarded to think that putting a mosque at ground zero wouldn't cause a shitstorm of protest.
Also; did I hear something about the ink in the Qurans being poisonous, or am I imagining it?

This has been on my local news for a long time seeing as I'm about 100 miles away from Gainesville, so I've unfortunately followed this for a while. What can I say about it? This man is a twat and should be shot through the face. Furthermore, he is an attention ladylike and the living antonym of a "good Christian".

@Tomaster: Some Pastor of a small church in Gainesville wanted to burn a stack of 200 Korans on 9/11. This is the same church that has signs posted out front which say crap like "ISLAM IS OF THE DEVIL". He essentially harps on Muslims, Jews, and gays in a flurry of "Christian" activity (he demanded that the new mayor of Gainesville, who is an open homosexual, step down from his position because of said homosexuality)

In short, a radical.

Right but we haven't had any radicals start any wars in a long time. Its about time we had another lunatic leading the world to Catastrophe.

Not that I'm defending him at all, but you have to remember that he is only half of the problem.
If Muslims didn't take offence at Korans being burned, then no one would care, and he could die in anonymous poverty as he deserves.

What your saying is that he is actually the last step on the ladder of blame.

Last step: Terry Fisher
Second to last: Islam offended by disrespect of Koran
3rd to last step: ?

See if you guys can fill the rest in.

I'm also not accusing you of "protecting" him.

It wasn't just a mosque, and it wasn't AT ground zero. It was several blocks away, if I recall correctly, and was also a community center with various things in it, like a pool. It's just that insane morons called it a mosque because it's hard to demonize a community center.

I'm sure if you try hard enough you can probably do it.
And now that I think of it, it was something like a few blocks away.

So do you guys think that something might start up because of this?

And from my experience, the Mosque on zero wasn't as bad as this. Most people except a few were ok with it. Actually in reality it was more like 50% was "yes", 50% was "no" and 200% was "I don't care".

And that was in America only.

This whole thing is like .0001% (50 Church Members) is "yes" and 9001% is "no" while a very minor .00000000001% (Me) says "I'm going to eat some chicken"

So anyone out there thinks this IS a good idea?
No?

Ok I'll just start it off then.
So assuming that I do support this guy, I would say:

"He is only doing this as a protest against Terrorism, which is a good thing. His heart is in the right place, although his methods I concede don't really make this much of a protest as it does shoving the US into a Rottweiler pit with a steak tied around the neck."

But then again:

"He did say that he was doing it to protest against Terrorism but in the end he responded to the relocation of the Mosque which doesn't really have anything to do with Terrorism. So is it more that he chickened out at the last second due to pressure or whatnot and is using that as an excuse or is it that he is just plain, old original if-your-not-white-your-a-heathen person? Why would he stop? I mean, the police told him that he wasn't allowed to burn the books anywhere but he was willing to pay the fines and perhaps even go to jail to see the whole thing through. Was he just emotional at the time or did something else trigger it?"

Also, I would like to see some evidence on that "Koran written with poison" thing. It might be kind of interesting and fun.

Additionally, I would like to see some evidence on the whole thing with him being against homosexuals and the mayor.

By the by, what do you think might come out of him visiting the "Mosque/Community Centre"?

Maybe so, but still, they should exercise some common sense. Even if it is a mosque/community center hybrid, they would have had to know that this would cause problems. I'm not saying this is their fault though, that guy seems right up there with the Westboro Baptist Church. Also, I'm not sure if this is just me, but does Leon not make total sense?

Hell EVERYONE should exercise some common sense.
But they were building it a few blocks away from the site. Logically it wouldn't be a problem unless they were building it RIGHT next to it or on it.
Also, can anyone confirm where exactly it was supposed to be?

By the by, thanks.

Leon's not making sense. And the mosque was just a part of it, was my point. There was a lot more to it, but it was attacked for having the mosque.

Edit: Hrmm...I saw where it was on the Daily Show, I think it was 7 or so blocks away.

How am I not making sense?

They build the Community Center with the mosque a 7 or so blocks away. 7 Blocks away might not be so far but it still shouldn't be a problem. It probably started by a comment on how the community had a mosque and how it was near ground zero and escalated from there.

Its not as bad, I think, compared to the whole deal with Terry Jones.

And speaking Terry Jones, was his whole book burning thing because of the Mosque (which it seems like it) or was it actually because of what he stated earlier: Terrorism?

HEY MORONS
YOU EVER READ YOUR CONSTITUTION?

APPARENTLY NOT.

This guy has every goddamn right to burn his (islamic) bibles. The fact that he's a colossal moron does not reflect in any way upon his right to burn the Q'uran/Koran/Quran.

Just like the fact that two buildings were crashed into by a plane has absolutely nothing to do with the ability of a group of people to build a community center with a religious sponsor blocks away in an extremely crowded city.

There's absolutely nothing at issue here besides public opinion, which has been shown in several elections to count for virtually nothing.
