I got an idea, Lets have an art contest. I figure, the mod making contest is doing well, we should have one for art, this way if people can't mod they can still show off there talents. I'm fairly certain there are a number of artists on this forum given the size of the art dump. All we need is for everyone to have the same thing to try to make, and I think everyone here loves a challenge. Seeing as I cannot draw to save my soul, and i'm the one posting, how about this...

1 for best likeness, judged by a photo.


Because this is art a good deal of it should be creative, and have NOTHING to tell you what to draw, while still drawing the same things so.... Draw me! Thats right, draw what YOU think I look like! I've never posted a photo of myself on the internet. EVER, so you have what little I've said of myself to go on, and you can make it anything you want, even if it looks nothing like me. you can choose to ignore any descriptions you know and draw. so a description of me? I'm about 6 foot 2, I have a goatee thats about 2-3 inches long and sort of wavy, i'm a 21 year old male, with dark hair. I wear glasses. Thats all you get.

Based on that small detail, lets see what anyone comes up with, the contest starts when we have at least 2 entries, and it ends when all the entries are turned in! No hurry. Other rules : If you have ever met me in person, you are disqualified. You may use ANY MEDIUM YOU WISH. Be it pen and paper, MS Paint, Photoshop, CGI, an actual brush, you could make a clay sculpture and photograph it for all I care, as long as YOU made it.

Are there any objections? GO!

Something just dawned on me, if 2 people immediately submit art and noone else tries thats the minimum to finish so new rule:

entry and submissions can begin now, but the contest can't end for at least 48 hours, ensuring that people can still enter even if the submission/entrant ratio is 1:1 during those 48 hours.

Furthermore, some of you may be tempted to do ugly stick figures, while your entitled and it might be worth a laugh, hopefully some people will take this seriously and draw good art, and thus stick-figures and stupid pics to insult will lose, and nothing will be accomplish. its not like 100% of the artists are trolls. and if you make a horrible horrible picture to make fun of me (because i'm the subject) if you do it well and its still good art, then its still going to be that. good art, even if it is a joke. The result? lots of art that will hopefully entertain people, thats the point. Don't think I didn't realize people would draw stupid crap, I actually expected a few submissions like that.


Also for entry/submission, Just post saying you'll enter, and thats it, don't even PM me. And when your art is done, Just post it in the thread. Its not like anyone here is biased on artistic talent. mods sure, but art? I doubt it. art usually makes people go 'oooooh... ahhhh'

I've never had an anime background. ever. furry yes, sci-fi movie? sure. CGI, yes. Motivational posters 90% of the time though.
