This sucks big time....Actually I'm not that surprised, I kind of expected stuff like this to happen but still, I mean FILEFRONT!? I've always uploaded and gotten all my small files from there... With some luck, this won't turn into a domino effect of sites closing down..

Why couldn't one of the bad ones, like fileplanet have died instead? I always got good speeds from this place, with them gone, it's back to 12kb/sec or "borrowing" accounts for premium download sites. |

Why don't they just put up some adds. Adds = income, income = site stays up. its not that hard. Or just add some sort of preimum accounts or even a "Support FileFront" button. or did they just go "we can't do it as is, we quit" |

Re: Bye, Bye Filefront ;_; They do have Ads, they are shutting down because of "the current economic conditions", implying that maybe not enough advertising companies want to pay them money this year, meaning that they can't afford to continue to run the site.
As for messing around with premium accounts, what could you offer in a premium account that would actually make people want to sign up without taking things away from the free users, harming the overall client base? They're not fileplanet... |
