Re: Should this run CC without lag?
Aww, is poor widdle Exalion still butthurt because he can't run CC perfectly?
It's a playable game, it was your choice to buy it, and there was never any guarantee or obligation, legal or moral, that the game would ever be fully finished or optimized. Your constant crying over the affair doesn't really do anything productive unless you consider people pissing on your stupidity to be productive.
tl;dr stop whining for no reason, you're making the Twilight fans seem smart by comparison.
(NOTE TO SELF REMEMBER TO MOD EDWARD CULLEN INTO CC {MAYBE JACOB BLACK TOO})
I said this on the devlog in response to Innerfire34 who was pretty worried about how the game ran on his computer (read: very badly) but I'll repeat in here; with my six year old dungpile of a machine (512MB of DDR SDRAM and a 2.20GHz processor) I can run CC with a considerable amount of mods loaded (Darkstorm, Pelian, UniTec, VaultTec, DSTech, HPOM and a handful of smaller mods) on a pretty crowded map (Maginot) with about a 0.80 timescale.
That's pretty ♥♥♥♥ fast considering some of the claims of people like Exalion and in fact I find it to be stabler at that speed than at a 1.00 timescale so it all works out, especially since lag isn't really noticeable until you hit the 0.60 or 0.50 mark and sounds get all warped and your actors move like paraplegic giraffes.
I bought CC and I'm very pleased with the experience as it has provided me fun for a lot longer than most $50-60 console games and other computer games and it's kept me hooked even in a slow period of development. If Data announced tomorrow that Datarealms would be trashing CC so they could move to Vegas and try their hand at professional gambling, I could probably live with that even with a bit of disappointment on the side since I'm still looking forward to the final product. But I don't feel like Data is obliged in any way to give me that final product and frankly not many people should considering what you read immediately before buying the game. I also don't feel like Data has a responsibility to rip apart the game at this point so they can code it practically from scratch in order for graphics optimization to work properly.
tl;dr - Exalion is dumb hurrr.
(FOOTNOTE: The only people really qualified to make fun of CC are THOR and Grif since they actually know what they're talking about when they complain and I ultimately view their opinions as constructive, if somewhat harsh, criticism.)
