Re: Stay out of District 9!
Excellent, excellent movie.
It's an excellent film.
-acting and dialogue is excellent (except for alien dialogue: awful.) Main character is so well done. -special effects, action scenes, props and sets are all very, very good. Especially for such a small budget (30 million I think). -a boring generic alien film this is not. the underlying message of racial discrimination is fantastic.
Best scene in film: the alien egg room. 'here, take this as a souvenir'
And I thought the battle suit was neat.
Only criticism is that -the alien's dialogue was awful -there were a lot of alien movie clichés. For example tractor beam, and what happens to the main character (not to spoil it).
4 stars.

I've never seen anything like what happens to the main character in any alien movie I've watched besides this one, esplain, lucy.

Saw it last week - one of my favorite movies of all time for sure. It was fantastic! Extreme second half violence.

grate movie, but not as violent as people claim it to be or maybe the films I usually watch just have more gore than general

Pretty sure that alien transformation happens pretty often in sci-fi. Yeah, saw it, liked it... Especially like the style of the presentation near the start and at the very end.

What Sci-Fi have you been watching/reading?

I've actually only seen that in the Resistance series (both widely and with Nathan at the end of R2), and, to a lesser extent, in Area 51*.
*The PS2 game by Midway, not the really old arcade FPS

Re: Stay out of District 9!
it seems like a cliche but really isnt that bad. it was a kind of lame plot device but it really moved the story along.

Re: Stay out of District 9!
i really hope they make a sequel i went about a week ago with 5 friends, all of us came away from it with the same feeling best movie of the year it did have violence, but for some reason it had a meaning, not just some random shoot-em-up, although at the end it metamorphosised into a bloodbath which was no bad thing the best bit of the entire movie has to be [SPOILER] when the guy gets hit with the pig from the mech's gravgun [SPOILER] that practically MADE MY WEEK

Re: Stay out of District 9!
if watching something ridiculous and fake in a movie is enough to make your week (or very nearly so, I suppose)
you have extremely dull weeks
my weeks typically culminate with six hour long ♥♥♥♥ (with your mother)
also a sequel would kill this and never be as good

Re: Stay out of District 9!
They could be planning a sequel, like almost every other movie does. Which I think is bad too.
Aside from that anyone got D-9 concept art to post here? Prawns? Prawn weapons? Prawn Battle Suit?

This is a very nice game! I've played the game, and I'd say it's quite fun. Even when you lose it's fun! ...have you lost the game?
