Or are we just stuck hoping that we have several capitals hanging around us when it warps in? If I'm ever able to make a decently complex mission system, there will be a special mission that'll come available to destroy it. Until then, it will be the master of any system it resides in. Your only hope would be to run away.

Out of boredom, i wrote this guide.
HOW TO BEAT A GOLIATH: a Veteran's guide. First step. Go chill with the largest friendly ships in the system (prometheus, glaive, etc). If their aren't any, you have two options:
1) press F8 and bring in a friendly fleet 2) RUN
If you are in a fighter craft of some sort, circle the goliath and fire at it. Use friendly ships as cover. DO NOT GET CAUGHT BETWEEN THE GOLIATH AND IT'S PREY. YOU WILL DIE.
If you are in a destroyer, such as the halberd or Pheonix, help out your friendly ships. If the fight is going badly, run. because it's going to target the next biggest ship, and you better hope that's not you.
If you are in a giant heavy battle cruiser (glaive or prometheus) go take it on, but make sure you have a lot of back up. You'll need at least one more super-destroyer, and plenty of fighters. The fighters are to stop Locusts and fleas tearing you apart while you try and take on the goliath.
Put in a short manner, you can beat a goliath easily. As long as you have lots of friends. Big friends.

Working on v0.7 Build 37. Once I finish these GUI upgrades and release Build 37, I will begin working on missions. Majority of which will be generic, but I plan to have a few special ones that will effect your game world. After missions are in, then all my goals I've set for myself at the beginning of this project will be complete. Then on will be fluff and other mini-goals I've thought up and people have suggested.

Might want to set up some system for us to set up our own stations/tradeposts and explore and name unfound planets for resources

You should turn this into what the Spore space stage should've been!

Heh, making this into what the Spore space-age should've been would require a ton of things to be added that aren't in my game right now..
Letting the player build space stations and colonize worlds would require a lot of work such as giving the player his own faction, instead of being put into a faction which static relations. (I want to do this eventually anyways) I would also need to save alot more data of things being changed. Currently the game loads all the planets and stuff from outside files. I'll need to figure out a way to save that into the save file and then over ride the right planets at the right time, and with space stations, create space stations at the right time.
