Mouse keeps double clicking when it's not supposed to.
I'll just click once with my mouse and it treats it as if I've clicked twice. Getting to be a problem, opening things when I don't want to open them, etc.
Just started happening for no reason, I tried removing and reinstalling the drivers but no dice.
I'm on Vista and I'm using a stock Dell USB optical mouse.

Try with a different mouse, it could be a loose connection in the mouse or something.

Check mouse settings. You may have clicked the box that makes a single click act like a double.

If that doesn't work, try increasing your double click duration.

It was humor.
I think this thread is over.

I've had the same problem before. Just fixed itself after ages of not using it, I still don't use it. I use the mouse for the wacom tablet.

THE SAME THING JUST HAPPENED TO ME! Ugh, it's a real pain in the ass when I'm playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. Except I have a Razer $70 mouse, I am too, running Vista.
