DRL, I trust my portable music listening to you
I need new earbuds. The ones that came with my ipod fit perfectly, but are starting to crackle and pop. (Damn rain.) I bought a new pair of Philips earbuds, with bass pipes and everything. Amazing quality earbuds with suberb bass. ( http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41D6MC3Y7WL.jpg ) But look at those things! The sheer size of the buds rape my ears. I can't wear them, at all. I tried stretching my ears with them, bad idea for those who are considering it. So I present a question to you all; what do you use to listen to your Ipod, Zune, etc. What would you suggest? Note: They need to not be stock earbuds, have great quality and have great bass. Oh and they need to be earbuds. I don't want to be the idiot on the bus with giant DJ headphones on, listening to techno. Price isn't much of an issue, but $200 for custom earbuds won't fly. Oh and they need have great bass. I can't stress this enough. BASS, BASS, BASS! Oh and this is a given, but they need to be somewhat small, like stock Ipod big.

I think big headphones look nice. Oh well.
Everyone's saying Skullcandys are great, but personally I think they don't look so hot and I'm a little worried about durability which with headphones is kind of a big deal, less so with earbuds though.

Skull Candy Full metal jacket earbuds...
FMJ 9 mm * Speaker diameter: 9 mm * Frequency response: 18 Nz-20z Hz * Impedance: 16 ohms * Max input power: 5 mW * Cable type: TPE * Cable length: 1.4 m * Plug type: 3.5 mm gold plated * Weight: 13 g * Starting at: $59.95, 64.90 after Texas sales tax.
A tad pricy, but the reviews all are raving about them and the specs are pretty nice.

You know that every time the headphones from an iPod break, you can return them for free and get new ones. The headphones come with a 1-year warranty inside the box, just make sure you have that with you when you return them.
I personally prefer the iPod headphones, they are smaller and sound better that all of what I've used before. Go with these.

http://www.sennheiser.co.uk/uk/icm.nsf/ ... _cx_seriesSennheiser CX headphones. They're in-the-ear head phones that are the best I've used. Bass sounds amazing and you can have them as loud as you like and no one else can hear it.

I'm not going to tell you what to buy, but Skull Candy is a great choise. I had those FMJs 'till I lost them in the ocean. So yeah, they're worth the price in my eyes, but I'd always take a pair of headphones rather than earbuds. You could get a pair of Skull Candy Skullcrushers, but again, they're headhones. But yeah, the FMJ is what I'd recommend.

Alright, I think I'll spring for the FMJs, as soon as I find a store that sells them. Also thanks for the info on the Ipod headphones, I'll have to check that out. I'll keep the other ones suggested in mind when I'm out shoppin. Also, for fun, I think for at home use, I'll get me a pair of these: http://www.skullcandy.com/shop/ti-p-7.htmlIn pink with fur.

Okay, those are snazzy. I take back anything I've said about SCs being ugly.
