Xbox (360) help.
Does an Xbox count as a computer?
Anyway, my 360 occasionally freezes up in 2 different ways, the DoD (Dashboard of Doom), the GSoO (Green screen of oblivion) and this only happened once, but "Hexideath" (If you have free time and alot of freezes, you name them, alright?)
Anyway-
DoD is when the dashboard just freezes completely, it doesn't react to any of my button presses, not even making any noise, which is odd because I remember that if it freezes during a game and you try to exit it through the controller you will still hear the "Swoosh" of the dashboard.
GSoO is weird. The intro plays fine, the dashboard opens up like it does normally, but before the dashboard itself appears, the screen turns green, it's completely blank, no words, no noise, just a dark green which reminds me of the original Xbox.
Hexideath only happened once, and I'm trying to avoid it, I got the 3 red lights of death, but I had them once before, the Xbox was fine, so I just turned it off, waited a hour or two, then turned it on again, it showed the first frame of the intro, but it was all messed up, like it was divided into little hexigons, the intro wouldn't play and the Xbox wouldn't respond to anything, I had to get a replacement.
I don't know what the GSoO and the DoD mean, but they feel like the first steps into another Hexideath, and I don't want to have to get another replacement.
Anyone know what these are, and how to avoid them?

Re: Xbox (360) help.
I've had hexideath before, but it was more like Hexi-injury. Basically, I get that if I expose my 360 to extremes, or liquid. My spare room in my house is a bit damp, so I test ran my 360 in there and it screwed up. I removed it to a hot dry room and let it sit there for about a week. It played fine once the circuits had dried up from the damp. I suggest keeping the 360 out of very hot or cold temperatures, as it can cause serious malfunctions.

Before I put it underneath my TV, now I'm giving it some more room to breath.
But it's still getting the GSoO, DoD is rarer now.

Oh lawd, you put it under your TV? Were you trying to microwave it?
Electronic components need proper ventilation. More often than not, extreme heat (instead of extreme cold) is what causes a majority of the 360s malfunctions. Keep it in an open area wit ha lot of ventilation. People have been known to use fan casemods or at least put fans nearby to cycle air.

Hey! Mistakes happen, problems ensure, mistakes are fixed, problems are overcome.
It's called "getting better at it".
Anyway, it isn't my room, sometimes I have to put a coat on in here just to keep warm.
(This laptop is boiling, maybe I do need a fan..)

Cold isn't going to hurt it (at least the degree of coldness you will find where you live), but heat does. Cold temperatures down to about 50-60 degrees would probably help it, actually.
