That's not to saying I'm atheist. I can't truly claim any established religion as my own, but I feel that there is SOME higher power, be it a "god" or something else. I believe that something had to create this universe we live in and can't bring myself to accept that our world "just exists."
You have to admit that there is far more scientific evidence favoring that "just existance" theory than a theory of some nigh-omnipotent being.

My personal belief is that something created the spark that completed the circuit between organic chemistry and biological life. Something turned primordial soup into single-celled, prokaryotic bacterium. After that, it was evolution that turned that prokaryotic bacterium into a eukaryotic, multi-celled organism, and from that to reptiles, to amphibians, to birds, to mammals, etc and so forth. There is so much accepted research on that topic that it pretty much solves the question of "how did life on Earth come to exist as it does now."

Unfortunately, that doesn't answer the question of "What caused the change from biochemistry to biological life?" Nor does it answer the question of "What controlled the series of events that allowed human beings and their evolutionary ancestors to dominate."

The reason why I think humanity at large has settled on some sort of omnipotent, all-mighty God is because of an instinctive need for centralized, defined control. We just cannot except randomness of the degree true evolutionary theory consists of. It goes against mammal's animalistic tendencies towards alpha males (and pack/group leaders). And that tendency to follow an alpha male is what, at heart, drives humanities belief in one God.

Oh good gravy. After that post--all you can say is "o hay sup \b\ I'm agnostic!" I know you're an admin, Alenth Eneil, but couldn't you try to post only if you have some discussion to provide?

I don't think this thread was made to be a rollcall of who is what religion. That's what a poll is for.

Haha, didn't really read... though the thread was new enough to not need me to do a major post.

Also, report discarded due to it actually being pretty much the view of them, if I am to ban for satire, I fear for the future of comedy.

Also, I need to go look to see if there is actually good evidence behind major evolution, I've not read on the subject in a while.

One can argue that biochemistry -> life was what happened when something was generating more energy than it knew what to do with. But as I said, TIRED.

I don't think it really makes a difference if we believe in one god or selveral, even if it was several, they were working in tandem, clearly. But that's from the view that ignores heavena dn hell and sin and all that silly stuff and simply looks at the idea of creation.

How is it trolling? He's reporting me for discussing my religion in a religion topic? That offends me highly, for him to think I'm not Islam simply because I don't seem arabic.

Also lol alt b&. I don't see why you'd want to start over just because everyone hates you for posting a thread about hating grif and thor a few days ago, omegaflier.

This just proves that you are all too young and far from being mature to handle a talk like this. I have been rewriting the rules when i get free time. Talk of Religion will be in the rules.

Now on, Locked. Any of these i see will be deleted. not locked. and the maker will be banned.

Also note to mods. We got much much more members then we got staff. A thread like this can NOT be moderated 24/7. As its such a borderline debate type thread.

We all have our own opinions, i respect that. But when we have a thread like this, wars break out.
