Improved planet look
I made this in build 23 i think? Re-added it to every build ever since. Personally i can't go without it. Make of it what you want and if you do want it, just replace in Data Realms\Cortex Command\Base.rte\Title\My bad guys: here's a download: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?l6hdctlg2r0m4j2 Its your choice

Re: Improved planet look
It's all dull and grey and unhappy. :c I wouldn't say it's an improved look.. certainly different though.

Re: Improved planet look
It's awful gloomy. Guess it's a matter of opinion.
On another note, CC should have more planets.

Re: Improved planet look
I can assure you it looks much more gloomy here than in the game. Promise. When i made it that was about as little gloomy as i could get it while making it look more realistic. Try it out in the game, with the nebula and then see how it works for you. More realistic, a tiny bit more dark, both very fitting to Cortex Command, people dont always realise how unfriendly the world of cc realy is, there is a lot of blood and gore, all the time, its not a holiday people.

Re: Improved planet look
I honestly think that's part of the charm. It's very friendly and colorful yet it is bloody and gory as all hell. However, the only real people in the game are actually the brains, so I guess it's more like breaking machinery. Hence why it is pretty lighthearted in regards to death.

Honestly, i think this is a major improvement. I love this. The vanilla one proved to be a bit of a pain at night.

Re: Improved planet look
I can imagine goth CC players would want to try this out. For the rest of us? Meh. It's way too gloomy.
Probably fits fine with Crow's mod though.

Re: Improved planet look
I totally like the whole gloomy thing, but I agree with p3lb0x; I think part of Cortex Command's charm is that it's not serious about its violence and gore. It's not trying to say, hey, this is a serious thing; it's just like, go blow some ♥♥♥♥ up and shoot some dudes in the face with a really big gun.
EDIT: Uh, sorry, I forgot to mention that this looks really nice. It looks it goes really well with the Brutality mod (assuming that one doesn't already have the darkened GUIs all around).

Re: Improved planet look
That's true, cc well has been a sort of battle, between the engine and the universe together with the music the designs and Arnes art. Frankly your right, the engine has won. It needed to win, because its where most of data's ability lies (the game was made for the engine, rather than the engine made for the game, in the end(because the engine is so complex)). One would therefore need to base the game on a different engine to actually be really able to enjoy the cc universe in its full. Plus, in the context of cc, the engine wins more players than a good story would. Its an engine to be amazed at. But really very little understand just how much potential the universe has, but ill leave it at that.
But if you say it looks gothic, I am still guessing you did not actually test it in the game it self. Note the contrast of light blue and darker colors having a significant effect of gothicness.

I gotta say it'd fit in really well with the Brutality mod. That seriously needs updating to B27

Re: Improved planet look
This is what I've always wanted my planet to look like! Amazing with the dark atmosphere mod. EDIT: How do you actually download it? do you click and drag the images or is there a download button that I'm not seeing?
