Post Mods and Scenes Section Rules
Read the forum rules if you don't know what Mild and Moderate Offenses are.

Things you should know:
This forum is for posting MODS ONLY, including WIPs. Scenes go in the Scene Releases section. Questions about mods go into Mod Making. Questions about scenes go into Scene Making.
  • Do not post other people's old mods any more. All of the ones that existed were restored.
  • If your mod makes direct modification of any files on the user's computer (i.e. through Lua), you MUST make this clear in your post, including what files are modified, and what modifications are made to them.

Mild Offenses
  • Posting off-topic. This includes posting something that belongs in Mod Making.
  • Posting about your mod(s) in another person's topic(s).
  • Posting a finished mod/scene without pictures and a decent (at least one paragraph) description.
  • Posting a mod that doesn't work. (ex: user must move/change files to make it work)
  • Posting a mod not in an RTE.
  • Posting in a mod's thread to ask if it's compatible with some version of Cortex. Try it out yourself, it takes two minutes.

Moderate Offenses
  • Giving somebody's mod a comment that is purely negative. This isn't to say that you can't say you dislike a mod, but if you want to do so, at least give some feedback. If you want to say the mod needs improvement, tell them how they should improve it. This will vary from warning to ban depending on how rude you are about it.
  • Posting in a thread just to say you're first and/or you have just downloaded it.

Major Offenses
  • Posting a mod which modifies files on the user's computer without including a specific warning in your post including what files will be modified and what modifications will be made. Depending on what your mod does, this can range from a warning to a ban and the deletion of your mod.

New rule:
If you haven't downloaded the mod in question, you cannot post about it. That means absolutely zero "downloading now, will post feedback later" posts. They're stupid, pointless, and contribute absolutely nothing.

Download the mod, test it, and THEN make a post that offers constructive criticism for the mod in question.

New rule time!
If your mod can modify the user's files in any way, you need to include a warning in your post. The warning should tell the user what files will be modified and what the modifications will be. If you don't do this, you will receive a warning, and depending on how malicious your mod is, it may be deleted and you may be banned.
Since there's a few mods that fall under this category already, I'll allow a few weeks for mod makers to update their posts to comply with this if the mod was posted before today (March 1st, 2012).
