Gyrojet V1.3 --- Modding Theme Entry: Rocket-Powered
Well, I mean, someone had to do it.Rather than causing a high-power explosion behind a bullet to accelerate it down the barrel, the gyrojet cartridge is propelled by tiny rockets on the back of the bullet, angled to cause spinning for stabilization, in lieu of rifling. Thus, gyrojet. The result is a projectile that has extraordinary head-splattering power at midrange, and uselessness at point blank. Optimized to a certain range, gyrojet weapons will be less effective both beyond and before reaching that point in flight. The pistol is optimized to approximately 15 meters. The assault rifle, 30 meters. The optimization distance is also the maximum distance of the sharp aiming reticule, for reference. old gif http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/7694 ... trange.gifTo do: -Whooshy bullet flight sound -Randomized unreliability? -Implement ammo pricing system of some sort, and make the gun cheap -Gyrojet Antimaterial Rifle? (with HEIAP rounds?) -Gyrojet Grenade Launcher??

Accelerating bullets have been done before, but I guess this fits. Make it so the bullets eventually drop to the ground of fuel depletion.

The bullet keeps going long after the trail from the exhaust stops, it's just harder to see. If you're still saying the bullet itself should should fall to the ground instead of disappearing upon uselessness, that's not really worth messing with, since it'll either be a hassle to do, But I did it anyways.

I'd say have a shorter trail and adding a mini rocket exhaust, like the one on the RPC, so that it feels more like a real rocket.

Re: Gyrojet V1.2 --- Modding Theme Entry: Rocket-Powered
Nope. Both this mod and the Gyrojet of this 'D20 Modern' you speak of are based on the real series of weapons of the same name. Also, V1.1 is out. Shorter thrust trail, a bit rebalanced, bullets fall to the ground instead of disappearing, "Speed Reading" is gone, and it doesn't clutter the console. V1.2 out. MOSParticle trail, fixed offset, now only 60oz.

Needs more rocket-powered objects and needs less weapon.

The ♥♥♥♥ are you talking about vain do you even know what a gyrojet is? Btw azukki awesome gun, would be nice with possibly a trail of gray pixels that fall slightly towards the ground before dissapearing instead of immobile pixels.

Re: Gyrojet V1.2 --- Modding Theme Entry: Rocket-Powered
The theme is rocket-powered. These bullets are rocket-powered. That is their sole specialty. There is no stated exclusion of weaponry for the theme. So it's fitting, and any attempt to say it isn't is in vain. [hurr hurr]
Lizard, I don't quite get what you're saying... There are no immobile pixels in the current release, and having pixels fall to the ground from the exhaust wouldn't make a lot of sense; the tiny rocket thrusters burn very cleanly into a trail of short-lived, warm, rising smoke. I suppose I should replace the .gif to reflect the newest version.

But the trail is uneven with the bullet . Would be nice with a little *WOOSH* on the bullets aswell.

The smoke seems to be properly centered. Or do you mean it's too wide? Yeah, a whoosh would be good...

Re: Gyrojet V1.2 --- Modding Theme Entry: Rocket-Powered
I like the concept, it's just that I'd rather the gun be bulkier and automatic. Also, I don't find ammo pricing systems fun, as gold becomes hard to keep track of, so how about releasing two versions, one with and one without?

The smoke is offset one pixel above the bullet
