The Cortex Command Broadcasting Network [1.0]
Ladies, Gentlemen, those who would rather not disclose their gender. Do you often find that your bunkers get boring? Lonesome? Quiet? Empty? Well do I have the solution for you! Tradestar Midas has recently upgraded its broadcasting system from boring old "HF" to a new form of long distance "SHF". This means the amount of data we can process has incresed 150%*! [see below] With this new adjustment, new bunker systems have been created to allow the broadcasting of public television! That's right! Public television! For the measly price of 70oz, you too can bring life to your bunker, and your bunker to life!!! Attachment:

Currently there are 5 channels being broadcast to the surface, and they are as follows: Code: Channel 0 - The OFF position Channel 1 - The Cortex Command Show Channel 2 - Reality TV Channel 3 - Happy Holidays Channel 4 - The Shopping Channel Channel 5 - Emergency Broadcast System To change channel, simply press the *ENTER* key on your terminal control panel. Be warned, however, to many signals being received in one zone does tend to cause issues between our broadcasting station and your television set, so please remember not to buy too many of our products. If you would like to broadcast your show on the wonderful 46*40 resolution, then feel free to contact us. GET SOME! Attachment:

Don't get too excited. There are only 5 channels after all.
Anyway, I just realised what my thread name abbreviates to... CCBN. Haham I made a funny without realising it.

I think you'll find it's just as fun as daytime television.

It's possible to make a browser in CC. The best you could possible come up with is something like lynx.

Or rather, be quite boring. It's not anything you couldn't do in a REGULAR browser, you know, something actually made to be an internet browser.

What would be interesting is if you could, ingame, open a browser, find the forums, download a mod, extract it, and then have the lua run a "refresh" and load said mod. (I don't know if it's possible, but it would be cool.) Ontopic: Mod looks great, I'm gunna DL, just so I can make my own CC Tv.

Re: The Cortex Command Broadcasting Network [1.0]
I thought it would be like real TV. It would have sounds and it would have real screen images. It would be fun to stop listening to that damn music from CC. It is getting boring. You could make it have sounds and some kind of war information on the emergency broadcast channel. If I had 10 dollars and could make contact with you guys, I would give 10 dollars to who make this TV i'm telling ya'.

Oh god who bumped this. Shakatuko wrote: I thought it would be like real TV. It would have sounds and it would have real screen images. It would be fun to stop listening to that damn music from CC. Actually this mod was the basis for my "seekrit preview" mod (which I can't be bothered to dig up a link for). It basically did exactly what you described here, but with the introduction for half life 2. I recommend you go find that, and see if you can alter it yourself.
