[WIP] Mechanoid Race [UPDATED: 3/6/2010]
MECHANOID Recently, I was uninspired, constantly tweaking but doing nothing much in my DSTech Corp mod. After posting a thread about it <my modder's block> and receiving advice... I made the "first" robot of the Mechanoid race, Puniceus. To elaborate, "DSTech Corp" is the handle of a independent force of militaristic sentiment machines, under the guise of a emerging electronics manufacturer, this force originates from the Mechanoids. Funny thing after I "came up" with this name I decided to google it, linked me to Dr. Who's Mechanoid race, no relation at all dammit! This be my mod dump from now on, expect extremely sporadic updates as I mess around. Anyhow, here: Quote: Puniceus:Comment:A supposedly female robot/AI that has found her niche in bounty hunting and assassination missions. She has recently found herself caught in the resource war that's being fought between many corporations, races, and individuals, since then she has offered her services. Her chassis does not sport the powerful regenerative armor and mini-reactors of the more militaristic DSTech robots, however it still rests in the high upper tier, enough for some factions to attempt capture... Current Known Weapons: Dual Handguns - Custom weapon that fires homing bullets. Laser Rifle - Custom laser rifle based off the DSTech DSWE01 Laser Rifle, somewhat inferior. Quote: <<<RS Systems>>>RS Systems joined the resource war sometime after DSTech Corp's first appearance. They have declared themselves as DSTech's direct rival, however their equipment and bodies don't quite match up with DSTech technology. Their weapons focus almost entirely on plasma. RSU00 Main:Comment:Primary multi-role combat unit of RS Systems, developed with a balance in quality and quantity in mind. Current Known Weapons: RSW00 Plasma Sprayer - Plasma SMGs that unleash a fury of shots. RSW01 Plasma Assault Rifle - Primary weapon of RS Systems forces. Attachment:

Looks beautiful . Downloading now... Will edit post with thoughts :Edit: Got an RTE Aborted, the mod makes a reference to DSTech.rte, I'll edit again when I fix this :Edit2: Love it, everything looks great and functions perfect. Personally I think the pistol rounds should have some sort of glow, but that's just me. One strategy I found was to make a hole in a base with the laser and use the hacker pistols to kill everything in the room. :Edit3: Just noticed the trail on the visor, favorite thing aesthetic wise about the actor.

I like it. Reminds me of Samus. Apart from the DSTech reference, I noticed the laser rifle doesn't cross the map border correctly. Definitely fun to play as though. Great job.

I finally tested this mod seriously. And I love the homing pistol shots. It really suits a bounty hunter who needs to assassinate someone.
And the laser's effects are gorgeous, and gorely. I love it.
