Unconventional Weapons. UPDATE: new bombs and bomber
I decided that it would be best for me to keep my mods together in one thread, because cool kids don't clog forums. I updated the mods I had and included some new ones. And the first to complain about the phalanx gets a dunce hat. And I don't care if these weapons are conventional PHALANX AIR DEFENSE TURRETThe Phalanx is an anti-missile, artillery, bomb, and aircraft defense system, armed with a Vulcan gatling gun that fires 20mm rounds at 4500 rounds per minute. The idea behind it was pretty much a bullet storm, enough bullets can blow up nearly anything. Some things to keep in mind:*This mod is held together with duct tape. Limited knowledge paired with crap engine limits. Expect it to be fragile and not work flawlessly *This is not accurate to real life. If it was, it would fire three times as fast and the bullets would explode. It would also be able to target things from 140 miles away. *No terrain rape. I had to use lua to limit that and the script isn't perfect. *This is better at air defense then you could possibly imagine. Set it to sentry AI and go afk. But not just any things, giant metal rods. While conventional bombs are still great, a metal rod dropped from orbit will reach the planet at 9 kilometers a second with the force nearing that of a nuclear bomb However, these are much smaller and much less destructive. But considering it's a metal rod it's pretty ridonk. Oh and not just any metal, tungesten-carbide. That makes it ~*fancy*~*This is not fair at all. *I had to compromise between big and power, because a tiny sprite doesn't blow up well and making a 20 ton metal rod just seems game breaking. *If you want an effective anti-foot tool this is pretty much it *Fun fact- i made this a long time ago *Buyable from the craft list and deployable anywhere! DownloadBOMBS AND BOMBERI repackaged some old mods with newer ones, plus they're nice and organized in the buy menu. Very little changes to the old ones, but I did fiddle with the weight and price. If you can't figure out what I added you have issues. BomberIn a package full of bombs you need something to drop them, so I made this. It's not very different from the normal dropship except it's a tad more powerful and the cargo doors open in a flash. It also drops things very fast. Great for carpet bombing but watch out when dropping high-powered bombs. This isn't magic or anything so it's got the same weaknesses that the normal dropship has. FUEL AIR BOMB(thanks to rashaln for the gif. also the gif is outdated) A Fuel-air bomb is a bomb that disperses explosives into the air and then detonates it, creating a massive explosion and shockwave. Because it's not a solid explosive and it uses the air as an oxidizer you can get extremely large explosions (and shockwaves). If you're familiar with the MOAB, then you'll know what this is about. tl;dr: Gas dispersed into the air. Gas explodes. Everybody dies. There are some things you might need to worry about:*You drop it high. It's a big explosion that explodes in midair, either don't expect to get your dropship back or drop it veeery high. *You do not drop it close to anything you value. This is a lot larger than you may think it is. *This is laggy. This isn't game crashing or anything but don't expect a smooth ride. Creds, yoThanks to Abdul Alhazred for the sharpness timer lua script, I kind of stole it from a thread in mod making EMP(gif does not show fancy glow and the quality sucks) An EMP bomb, or an Electromagnetic Pulse bomb. The non-nuclear variety for extra flair, and most definitely not for balance issues. The massive pulse of electromagnetic waves will fry any electronic device in a close proximity. Beware of your doors and any robots you are fond of, this is indiscriminate. It is brain-safe, however. *No I am not making a nuclear emp. *"Harmless" to squishy things. *Custom actors (not rockets or dropships though) won't die because i made this work the ghetto way, you'll probably be able to figure out the lua script if you want to put one in, though. Firestorm BombThis really has no basis on anything in reality, but this was the retarded child of an attempt to make napalm not suck. It's intended purpose was to be a deadly long-term area-denial, but all I could manage to do was make it dig into the ground like a 5 year old in a sandbox with ADHD. *This fire is sticky. You should probably be aware of that. *Yeah that's pretty much it. Cluster BombI gave originality the finger and made this. Like every other cluster bomb, it blows up and spreads little bombs of destruction in your path. Except i'm pretty sure mine blows up in midair so that makes it better.

Wait, I just realized: All of these bodies are remote-controlled by a brain, right? That means that all actors (including organics) should have some sort of electronic receiver, right? Then shouldn't all actors be disabled or destroyed from the EMP? Just a thought.

The brain sends the electron things to the brain of the soldier. The soldier does nothing to get it.

I mean, destroy the receiver, and you basically disable the soldier. Plus, the organic soldiers are basically clones without a working brain; it's probably been replaced with a receiver. The brain case sends out radio (or something) signals to it's soldiers; an electronic receiver would make controlling the soldiers universal regardless of whether it's organic or not. Of course, that still doesn't explain why you can control native crabs, though...

I thought of this, and then I realized that a bomb that instakilled everything would be ridiculously overpowered.

The brain in the actor wouldn't be able to decipher the signals from the brain case, so it has to be modified to accept the signals: probably by electronic means. If you disable the electronics, then the actor is essentially uncontrollable (The actor will probably still live, because it doesn't need signals from the brain to keep heart rate and breathing working). Maybe destroy robotics, and make organic actors uncontrollable, or force eject if the player is controlling.

Biotechnology has to be REALLY advanced to make a meat antenna, but then again, this IS the future... I suppose organic radio receptors are feasible.
