The CrowGuard 1.0
(hi im Lewis,, This is my first mod.) CrowGuard BackgroundThe CrowGuard are an elite mercinary force, who are often bought in to handle difficult situations The planet they originate from was once a small earth colony until a deadly disease and the hard conditions present there caused most of the colony to die out. but the colonists that survived rose from the debry of their fallen government and united under the flag of F'nGhruchd, a great "old one" who is beleived to have travelled to the planet during the troubles (or perhaps caused them) and the survivors are said to be his "chosen few" They chose to name their army after the Earth Bird that smuggled its self with the colonists and survived the apocalypse by feeding on the weak. some previewsThe LaserSawThe LasCannonThe NEW IMPROVED! Re: [WIP] The CrowGuard
Nice first mod I found your troops to be meat bags <fairly weak>, might need to tweak the materials on the helmets, and tweak the attachable armor. For some reason the shells of one of the weapons sinks into the ground. Some muzzle offsets are off. Might need to up the jetpack power as well.
*cough* My weapons make your weapons look like vanilla weapons.

Some muzzle offsets are off. yeah i'm working on the offsets atm, and the shell eject is weird, i think if i use the similar type shells i used for the Substance-D Gun that might fix it. and the tweaks are happening (slowly lol) when i get that done ill try to make the F-F launcher a bit less annoying, atm i just get my own troops killed with the spray DSMK2 wrote: *cough* My weapons make your weapons look like vanilla weapons. hah, your guns are UBER powerfull though, they make chuck norris look weak !

Re: [WIP] The CrowGuard
Just a tip: JPEG is great for large photos or for when artifacting won't affect much. However, for pixel art, cartoons, and art that has a lot of clean colors, jpeg is TERRIBLE. Notice how your screenshots are blurry and have color loss.
Use PNG for cartoons, pixel art, and things with transparency. It doesn't have any loss in compression and it's generally regarded as the cartoon file format.
Also, Programs that let you choose the compression of a picture usually make JPEGS a lot less worse, but you're probably using paint, which tends to compress everything to the point of being ridiculous.

Love the idea and the actor sprites especially.
Just one thing: Isn't 'Substance-D' the Scanner Darkly drug?

For a first mod: Great.
I like the details you give to the items. And I like the weapon's properties.
However, The sprites need more work, but I don't know what sort of work. Weapons, though, needs to be nerfed. Too much terrain rape, and the sights are too long.

Re: [WIP] The CrowGuard
just so you know ive changed the download so anyone who downloads now, will not get the weird shells with the zos that seem to drill into the ground. the replacement isnt perfect but im working on it. and a few of the offsets are fixed (the Sub.-D is stillwrong though) (it only contains extremely minor changes but if your downloading for the first time will make the mod much more playable) next time i update, maybe a sniper, and fixed offsets. things im currently working on is the muter series's and zos's terrain rape. and im trying to come up for a better concept for the F-F Launcher, because i like the sprite but the actual function, i dunno what you guys think but i hate it. The Decaying Soldat wrote: Too much terrain rape, and the sights are too long. thanks for the feedback, im messing about with the weapons at the moment.

Re: [WIP] The CrowGuard
This Mod is 80% done, and in the last update i added all the stronger weapons bar one. there is now a heavy trooper, more capable of taking damage a riot shield reskin to protect from the shrapnell of the Zos EQ the substance D weapons look alot better, but i need to fix alot of things about them the energy weapons have been completely changed . the old lascannon now fires laser rounds, the F-F launcher has been nerfed much has changed, the best way to have a look at the changes is on the mod db page.

Re: [WIP] The CrowGuard
Bad news with Version 1.0 i was duped by an attack site and had to reboot a load of content will have to be rebuilt, this could be a while because of coursework ect ect.
content lost includes, many gun tweaks a commander unit a dropship an unfinished gunship half of a robot unit to replace the initiate.
this all sucks but i will rebuild it at some point

Re: [WIP] The CrowGuard
Well, since you commented mine on MODDB I will comment yours. Pros: Glows, smaller actor, Design. Cons: Some of the sprites are almost solid white [appears to be]
Changes: All i ask is that you change the heavy trooper... IT kinda looks funny.
