I feel it's kind of overrated to do a backstory for such a small mod as this, so I'll just leave it at this: they were the expeditionary forces of a large empire that just wound up on this planet.

ACTORS
Strike Commando
Image
A fearsome soldier that comes with a ion-deflector shield. This guy exhibits greater than usual strength and speed as well, thanks to cybernetic implants.

WEAPONS
Plasma Cannon
Image
A gun that shoots out thick beams of ionized metal towards your opponent. They oxidize on collision, creating a massive explosion.

Coil Gun
Image
A nasty bullet-shooter that fires heavy, fast projectiles that turn enemies into mush. Simple, but fun.

Sticky Grenades
Image
A fully automatic (yay!) grenade launcher that fires remote-detonated sticky grenades.

Really neat mod.

At first I was stunned by the price of the actor and the gun. But they turn out to be really high class stuff. Nice reflective shield.

EDIT:
I thought the shield was invincible. I walked up to a shotgun-wielding DS Tech robot. I was wrong.

But good job on the shield meter. I also like the faction icon, it has good shading.

Oh yea, and I notice the flashing red light on the jetpack.

There's so many surprises in a mod with only one gun and one actor.

Really fun. The actor is very well sprited, I especially like the shine on the glass face cover and the shoes (shoes are hard to do). The gun, although it's palette seems a little less shiny than the actor, is very nice as well. The particle effects are pretty and all the really small things are nice and really add to the polish. The levels of armour are a really nice touch that most modders don't bother with. I'm looking forward to what you make next.

Some things though: The gun is weird. It's super powerful when it hits the ground, but it kind of air bursts on actors, sometimes killing them sometimes doing no damage. The actor's gib limits are very low. His limbs die to everything. The shield is a little glitchy, it's from Darkstorm, right? If you stand next to a Coalition drone with the shield on, the shield will fire ground-raping bullets for several screens.

Questions: How does the health system work? I never see him with his health below 100 (Though I might have caught a glimpse once, I'm not sure), and the greyish health bar always seems to stay the same.

Hmm.. I made the shield myself; it's not from darkstorm. I only looked at the mod to figure out lua. All code and sprites are by me, except for the offsets on the strike commando, which are from the coalition light.

^^This is what should be happening with the health metre. Are you getting any lua errors in the console? Thanks for telling me, it's always helpful when people report bugs.

The shield works fine most of the time, it deflects bullets very well, but in the case of the Coalition drone, it fires the particles at high speeds.
Like, it bounces bullets, which is good, but when it bounces Coalition drone particles, it reflects them at high speeds and/or long lifetimes- and the drones had such powerful particles that it noms ground.
Not really that big of an issue, it's just weird to see half my base disappear when I stand near a drone.

I say you should get to work on more weapons instead, but i guess a faction dropship would be better than the spider & tank.

When I looked at that title (And author, no offense on you though, I just never saw you before) I thought it was just some cheap little mod with poor quality. I guess I was wrong. I kinda like the acid explosion in the screen-shot. 'Guess I'll have to try this one.

Also, me like your photoshopped (or whatever program you used to make it) siggy and mod logo :3

Edit : Dropship should definitely be next.

MMkay, it looks like I'm doing a drophship. I'm thinking of departing from the traditional forward-facing style, and doing a side-facing dropship. Most mods have lots of weapons and not many actors, so I've decided to go a different way. Of course, I will make more weapons when I am done with the actors.
