amrobotics -updated 1.8.
Update. Features A-4 machinegun version, better sprite for the parachute and 1 new(old) unit, A-2 Steamhowitzer. The Steamhowitzer is a vehicle, so it's useless without a pilot. TheLastBanana's hoverboard code is very useful indeed. A-2 Steamhowitzer Mechanical walker artillery. Box For Big Things Big wooden box with a parachute to soften the fall. A-4 Bomber Powered by two steam turboprops, this small bomber can drop up to 200kg of bombs very rapidly. Not recommended for troop deployment. Machinegun version also available. A-5 PANZOR This heavy-duty robot was manufactured for subterranean mining operations on M-class planets hundreds of years ago, when space mining was still a relatively new branch of industry. Before RTGs, "nuke batteries", became widespread, steam engines were actually viable power sources for locations where solar energy was not an option. The robot can use nearly anything that burns as fuel, including organic matter (fossilized or fresh) and gases. Most of the steam is condensed and recycled within the robot, minimizing water need. Thus the robot could operate several years autonomously, and some robots are still found throughout the galaxy, mining and defending their long-gone masters' miningsites.

Looks good testing now EDIT: Wow, holy crap this is AWESOME, very nice job, I like the jump instead of a jet pack, audio was epic, sounded really cool. A+ work (in my opinion at least)

Re: amrobotics
Mega points if you make it able to turn enemy actors into "fuel". Bwahaha.

This is good. One thing though. The Index.ini is outside of the .rte . Kinda a noob mistake...

Re: amrobotics
Looks great, totally worth adding to my collections. On a side note, I think a steam-powered life support system for a brain would rock. With extra tubes.
Edit: Noticed that the Fortress and the Panzor are in separate RTEs, so I condensed them for my own use. If anyone else wants it, I've uploaded the result.

You didn't finish it when you released it last time?

Re: amrobotics
Good lord he's effing hard to kill! I had to use a heavy digger on his head for at least 30 seconds! Love the details that can be found everywhere, but the legs seem almost indestructible! I mean, I tried the Steam howitzer before, but this thing is Awesome! Can't wait to see what comes next! Did I use too many exclamation marks?

MG shells eat terrain. Otherwise, great job.

whitty wrote: You didn't finish it when you released it last time? Last time was around build 18. Back then the only way to do special effects, such as smoke coming from exhausts, was to sacrifice a limb and use the breakwound. Extra attachables for making layered armor not yet implemented, not to mention lua. Lots of panzor soundeffects were missing and a lot of the sprites were placeholders, most notably the legs and smoke effects. So no, it was unfinished back then. Control wrote: MG shells eat terrain. Otherwise, great job. I use basic casings, and they have too much mass by default. Get this fix.

Re: amrobotics
The robot has wonderful sprites, great custom sounds for bullets pinging off it and is just fun to use. I love the way he holds guns, as he'll hold ANY weapon with one hand. I've had him fire massive chainguns and rocket launchers one handed and it just looks nice. As for killing him, just fire away at his head. The Darkstorm sniper rifle can down him in 4 hits to the head. I love how he is nigh impervious to bullets yet still has a weak point. The Panzor MGs are just full of awesome DAKKA and the Panzor Jackhammer is a wonderful touch on diggers. A++ would download again
