So it's a minimap.

Yellow dot's the location of the screen relative to the map.

Really big green/red dots are brains. Medium size is craft, small is actors.

Will work on any map, purchase out of Bunker Systems.

Suggestions for tweaks would be good, should be nicely bug free.

A more specific screen sprite also probably wouldn't be turned down.

Should be called Radar, and given a more Radar-y sprite

Make it damage able, and have damage reduce the quaility of the map(sometimes leaving out actors, dimmer/smaller icons).
Oh, and have a animation showing some sort of radar ish sweep.

This is why I'd choose Grif to be a content dev over Numgun. I'm dling this.

No one ever said this when Mail did his Lua magic.

No chance in it ever showing terrain, is there?

The problem is there's no reliable way for it to trace terrain. I thought about it, but even if I got it all up it'd still require spawning particles onscreen constantly to show where terrain is, plus it wouldn't update with terrain (except without even more lag) and really it's not much worth.

I'm considering trying it, but I doubt I'll get it to work.

Also, mail, a scanning effect would be great if there were a way to do it that wouldn't actually be laggier. Damage is a maybe, I'm not really sure about it.

It doesnt need erase/recreate dots for the scanning effect, it would be fine with just like a bar going across.

Damage is possible, just either do an ID indexed table, with the scanner keeping track of it's ID and on id cahgne, checking the list if the number representing damaged changed.

Spawned particles find the scanner and increment the element in the table at the nearest scanners ID.

Exactly which lua hack are you talking about?

If there was only a way to add this to the GUI!
I definitely like the look. I'll check it out soon.

Aah McCain, you've done it again.

Non-Aussies probably won't get that.
Grif is awesome, is the point.
