Metal Slug Faction Mod After much work, hours, offset-rage and ragga music, its done, but not over. I've coded some strong units to protect areas or rush enemy with effectivity, so here comes 3 line tanks and 2 special units, one of special units born by my fist. I'll tell you why, *boring explanation* in metal slug cannot find one anti-infantry vehicle, because the main character its light infantry and it will be really difficult to defeat or avoid, almost impossible... The name its the "thunder" by the "thunder-counter-attack" tactic born in WWII. This will be the last release, perhaps some adjustements, nothing big. /// Tanks /// Girida-O Light anti-infantry tank, very fast, cheap price, and counts with one compact pirate cannon, yes, pirate cannon, super-addictive. Reccomended for : Quick assaults. Defects : No jetpack. Girida-Om Upgraded girida-o, only seen when the end of the war its near, more quick than girida-o, stronger cannon, and smoky jetpack. Recomended for : Shocking assaults Defects : Armor easy to pierce. Dikoka Mk2 Medium combat tank, most renamed and known line tank Jetpack, good range and medium armored hull. Reccomended for : Strong skimirsh. Defects : Vulnerable to shocking waves. Mauss Strong combat tank, reliable but slow Designed to face strong armored units, leave to fire and compressed gas do what infantry can't do. Reccomended for : Armored fights. Defects : Be sure where do you advance. Formor Division-chief, comes with strong-repulse cannon, shiny jetpack and one strong anti-infantry MG. This tank its effective against any enemy. Disclamer: this tank its full of bugs, really-hard-to-solve bugs... helps always accepted. /// Special Units /// Thunder Anti-infantry jeep, prepared for those robocomunist defences, comes with light jetpack and one robo-droidy who repairs slowly your hull for stand against much waves. Reccomended for : Counter-attacks and stablish positions. Defects : Can't stand against hard waves of enemys. Bradley Mk2 Artilery unit, fry those punks since one mountain of distance, No more suicidal attacks, no more prepared enemys defences, four round will open your path through enemy lines. Needs practice, and experience, no one can control it at all. Recomended for : Far artillery attacks. Defects : Devasting face-to-face combat. Bradley Mk3 Upgraded version, more rockets, more armour, better jetpack but less aim skills. Recomended for : Silence enemy waves Defects : Very poor aim-range. Mini-Ufo Fragile but so deadly as cool, use it wisely an be careful where you shoot. Recomended for : Stealth infiltrations. Defects : Weak, certainly weak. Hover Shooter Reinforced aircraft, low caliber bullets, very high rate-of-fire, a.k.a. "moskito". Disclamer: bullets look weaker than real are, keep in mind you're looking frank dies... Recomended for : Cover hard terrains from enemies. Defects : Dislike the physical hits! V2-Deployer Son of Rocket V1, tremendous power, tremendous lag. Never... I mean NEVER aim to less than 450 pixels, you're warned. If gotcha never challenged me to do a galaxy-destroyer you'll never be playing this one, so, thanks man. ChainGun Mech As you see, huge fire-power, able to shoot 500 bullets in 30 seconds, if you want to keep a place safe, don't search anymore. Recomended for : Cover corridors and higher places. Defects : Who needs to run when can fight? SuperClaws Mech Nothing better than 2 Giantic metalic claws for smashing enemies, perfect mech for kamikaze desires. Recomended for : Charge!!! Defects : Nothing to throw, just face to face combat. Infantry Troops Requested hundred times, leave the soldiers do dirty jobs and left the tanks for important things... Classic ones : Fusil soldier, Baz0ko soldier, Mortar soldier. Commando ones : Machete soldier, Chaingun soldier. The green one : Hazmat Soldier. Pto.Militia ones : Ptolemaic Brave, Ptolemaic militian. Take a look to the modules, you would like them Sorry about being so late, I took a bunch to do a megapost. Bradley M2 was my favorite in the original game with those massive missiles, cant way to test what you've done with these. Also seeing Areku had his code in this, this has got to be awesome. Comments to come after testing Also drop.io for uploading mods. Or filefront.com |

Only tested like 50% so far and instantly I was struck by the Bradley's missiles; The seem to be a little too weak and explode most of the time in midair. Need more gib impulse limit right there, since mostly they explode right after they leave the launcher. Also it'd be great if they would arc and fall down like in the original game. But so far, this is AWESOME. |

I think these are pretty awesome! Nice everything really, except one thing: once they lean to one side, they cant get back up, and they have poor ground movement. You really have to use the "jetpack" to get them around. Nice mod overall though! :) |

numgun, I'll try to add some gibwoundlimit, I've not thougt it before but that of fall down and super explode of ms tanks its really hard to make... Anyway, thanks The Mind wrote: I think these are pretty awesome! Nice everything really, except one thing: once they lean to one side, they cant get back up, and they have poor ground movement. I've noticed that one, you have to look quick left and right with wouse and it fix they stuck easily with terrain but think a crabs don't manage very good in common ground... Anyway real tanks needs engineers to make easy advance through wild terrains, and thanks ^^ |

The only thing that bugs me is the lack of movement on the barrels, otherwise it's pretty good. |

I decided to tweak the bradley's gun and now its much better. Attachment:
File comment: Put in MS.rte\Special Forces\Bradley and overwrite the old file. Missiles now fly and arc! BetterBradleyGun.zip [2.08 KiB] Downloaded 1035 times Put that in the MS.rte\Special Forces\Bradley folder and your missiles will not explode midair AND they will arc too! Also I really like how the medium tank has its barrel fixed in one position like in the original game. It really makes it interesting to use unlike a normal tank. So far this mod is incredible, but could use some work. I mean there are tons of random crap lying around in the folders like the bear federation items and such. |
