Welcome to Solace Inc, where we bring you all but the kitchen SInk! Although we don't have the resources of a full faction, we strive to bring our customers quality products to aid in their endeavors. Though our inaugural product line is fairly small, our R&D department is hard at work to expand your options. A description of these services follows. The Zomborg looks angry. And it is. Rage unquelled by the grave augmented by the latest cybertronics, this enhanced clone will absorb considerable damage before returning to the earth; also, it's essentially a blood-pinata. Now comes in three flavors- Boss, Thug, and Horde. A very powerful shield that covers a large area and pushes back large projectiles. Not much else to say, in most respects it's just a shield. We implanted a radical new isotope that actually opposes gravity into this shield! Unfortunately, it doesn't offer much protection, and has proven to be... unpredictable. The Excavator digger will quickly harvest gold, but in exchange cannot penetrate rocks or cement. The Tunneler will cut swiftly through any material, but destroys most gold it passes. The Grav Dust sprayer was developed when we powdered some high-grav and antigrav materials, and mixed them. This creates a small area that is very hazardous to any crossing it. Originating from an attempt to make an organic explosive, The Goo Sprayer will very quickly cover an area with a very weak substance. Either delay enemies, patch inconsequential holes, or cushion your fall from high areas with this handy device. Now capable of breaching walls. The cager was designed to imprison enemies, but also provides a useful framework for cement. The Instawall device, comes in barricade and cover versions. A prototype personal mobility enhancer, this variation proved too difficult to focus, and drained too much power to add weaponry to. While it is fairly harmless, it can toss around mobile objects... if you can hold your ground. A vastly powered up gravity gun, the Black Hole Gun will simply shred nearby objects. Originally designed as a sword, our Force Drill provides more protection from the particles pulled back toward the wielder, as well as affording a decent measure of air control. Extremely powerful but also dangerous to use, both from blowback and accelerating too much toward your target. Note: this is a weapon, not a digger! We are not responsible for damages if you point this weapon at the ground. The Force Lance, a second generation weapon. The force was increased, and placed at a distance from the user, reducing self-fatalities. It's operational time does, however, suffer slightly. A high powered Plasma Torch that... well, basically it's a flamethrower on steroids. Used on ships to weld deck playing, clear debris, or punch holes through practically anything. Although it's weight, cost, and lack of range make it an unlikely weapon, it will take you where you're going and take out anything when you get there. A useful Plasma Blaster which can obliterate things at close range before the damage slowly drops off at the distance. Unlike any product on the market, has to be seen to be believed. Current version on right. The Plasma Spewer is a combo scythe and mortar, and although it does not accel at either function, it is quite versatile. Bought from unknown traders in severe need of a throat lozenge, these weapons are cheap, lightweight, and powerful; essentially mini-rocketlaunchers. However, their accuracy suffers, making them somewhat difficult to utilize. Demoed here by a Space Marine, the Storm Bolter will shred anything short of the largest mechs... if the bolts can get up to speed. Another new acquisition of our trading devision, the phaser rifle. The Sniper Cannon... the name says it all, really. Tired of actors that survive regular sniper rifles? Get a sniper cannon! The Carpet Bomber, a modified rocket launcher with less range, speed, and accuracy... but which drops many mini-bombs midflight, to decimate anything unlucky enough to be in it's path. The Mole Rocket Launcher, also using modified ammo from a stock launcher, these rockets dig randomly into the ground for a while before exploding. The flamethrower is... well... honestly that picture about says it. The Quadlazer Grenade... makes traveling hazardous for a time. Sunburst Nade- clears out an area pretty well.

Has references to Midas.rte, namely Digger.wav in the Plas/Plas.ini... EDIT: Works if you overwrote this over the older Sinc.rte and change the references to Midas.rte/[Somethingorother]/Sounds/ in SInc.rte/Plas/Plas.ini to SInc.rte/Gorepainter/Sounds... EDIT 2: The storm bolter is pretty good as is the plasma spewer (albeit unsafe to leave under AI control)... |

Ah, sorry forgot, fixed that now. Thanks for the complements. ^^ Also, compared to the last version I touched up the plasma torch and staff weapon a bit. EDIT: And of course added the Storm Bolter, Plasma Blaster, Plasma Spewer, and Goo Sprayer. |

Yeah, the staff weapon is nice now, though the first time I tried it I modded it so I got 2 from the Shields menu and fired both of them at once straight into the ground... yes I know I'm clever... I was using a darklone though so there was no damage.... There's probably going to be two groups commenting on this thread, one group complaining that the storm bolter fires too slowly, one complaining it fires too quickly... EDIT: The Plasma Blaster and Staff Weapon do not appear in the weapons tab for some strange reason... EDIT 2: The Plasma Blaster is also incompatible with shields. I've had alot of fun by using 2 staff weapons at once, the bolts collide and it turns into one of the most powerful shotguns I've seen... |

It was my noobiness (I was using the same InstanceName)... it should work now. The sprites are pretty good all round, but the storm bolter one looks slightly odd, ever so slightly... |

The stormbolter firing offsets are slightly off, also - may I release an edit of your sprite for it? |

Updated again 'cause 411570N3's sprite is better than mine. Honestly all my sprites are kinda hacky and usually disguised recolors of vanilla stuff. Also fixed the offset 'cause 411 reminded me and added the extra effects to the plasma blaster 'cause Exalion reminded me. |

If you like, when I've got spare time I might edit the rest - but I don't think your sprites really need it that badly.... |

Plasma blaster and spewer are good. The goo sprayer is the most useful of the new additions, perfect for "hot drops" (dropping an actor from orbit to surface without a dropship). I found the blaster a little weaker then expected, but it's well balanced. I would like to see a smaller sidearm based on the same theme as the plasma blaster. I was very disappointed to see that the undead weaponry such as the zombie launcher weren't included as this does replace the old .rte . |

Not sure if you can really do hot drops yet, but yeah, I'd always imagined being able to do something along those lines. And... the plasma blaster is supposed to be a sidearm... it's one handed and costs only 20 oz. I guess I could condense the sprite though. The zombie stuff doesn't really fit in the same theme so I'm going to make it it's own thread; this is "serious" stuff I'm trying to make balanced in CC, while the various zombie things are... more unusual. How balanced is the pinball launcher, since it's totally uncontrollable? It could do nothing, it could navigate the entire bunker and take out a brain. However, until I get that thread up, here's all the zombie things (no new additions yet). EDIT: Oh, actually there is one thing, I messed with the avalanche launcher a bit so it lags less.

godinys wrote: good mod but... it need troopers....well... .... Actors are harder than guns, although I had actually planned to try that out next. deathbal101 wrote: confetti would be epic. ... confetti that does what exactly? EDIT: I was playing around with giving weapons minimum range, bolter most obviously, but also the plasma blaster that drops off at long range and explodes at close range kinda forcing medium range combat. Dunno, just something new. |
