You can actually just take the limbs straight off. Mail did it once with his limbsaw laser: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=14644 (somewhere near the bottom of the post.) That said, I don't think this would really fit in with the darkstorm style. I mean a swift decapitation would be on the line between effeciency and over the top, but taking off all the limbs is far beyond that.

Yeah the Oni's stuff and Mehman's would be cool, but what would be even cooler is to take Dafred (cause he's simply awesome) and take all the CQC finalists + Oni, code pie menus for every attack and make him the ultimate CQC actor, Dafred would need some good armor though

not really, i don't intend to put pressure on him. i know it's just a mod for an indie game that isn't even in beta stages yet and he has higher priorities.
I will admit i am trying to coax a teaser to wet my pallet. without official weapons the browncoats are a bit lame cause i have to use coalition weapons and prefer to fight coalition so i had to make them spawn carrying ronin weapons.
I can sprite, i can offset (kind of) but i can't code from scratch, much less use Lua, i've only ever released 1 or 2 maybe 3 mods (one of those mods heavily dependant upon darlos's work, i believe i gave him credit for it, it was a long time ago, a grenade launcher that launched a grenade that exploded into multiple mini grenades, i believe at the time no one had done it before or as well as i had done it). I'm more of a rookie jerry rigging ad hoc personal modder who's talents in creating something new just come from piecing together other people's work into some kind of bricolage to create something new. i wouldn't be so dependent upon other people's skills if i had some of my own.

i think they did at one point, a very long time ago.
they have knives now so they don't really need swords.

I think I'll suggest something for the Oni Bushi.
I think, given Cortex Command's general base structure, either a jumpjet that can sustain moderate (Or pathetically low) horizontal mobility, or a charge jump combined with a hover-type of system would be sufficient. The air-burst could have a use, but might be far too effective in regards to distance travel.
Such a system, combined with wall clinging or jumping, provided it is implemented with the Oni, could allow for clunky, but mildly efficient shaft-ascension.
In regards to the Tengu and Yuurei, the Oni wouldn't make it up a 3-story shaft without a few stops, while the Tengu could jet up, and the Yuurei could quickly wall-jump her way up.
Also, for the Oni's hand-to-hand combat, I am partial to the idea of two styles of combat, toggle-able by PIE menu. Fast 'n' furious, and slow but powerful. Although, they might not be very different, and unnecessary as well.

id like there to be a sword or dagger. id also like there to be a slow and painful way to kill enemies, but if it is impractical, then whatever.

The sword would only be useful if it were massively overpowered in some way, since each actor already has her own built-in melee that she can use without switching weapons, whereas a sword or other such would force the actor to sacrifice time and energy to switch weapons. Yeah, it would kick some serious ass to see an Oni lumber out with a huge blue katana of pure energy or whatever, but I think one thing that this mod doesn't do is go purely for show, so good luck with that.

Tacticool sword ? Besides the standard melee is hardly great so may as well add a Upgrade to the melee or a new weapon

Okay, to make a compromise, why not functional bayonets, which could be attached/detached to a certain rifle? Would kinda fit if they're laser bayonets.
