Re: [WIP] The Pelian Army *Update: March 6th*
Allright, folks, updated. :U This time, i bring you the MARS Autocannon... Look it up under the MARS weapons. I also removed some of the superfluous blood glows from the soldiers, so it doesn't look quite as over-the-top now. Still much bloodier than the vanilla content, though. Next step would be to awesome up the Assault Robot a little. Needs to look TOUGH.

AGREED. Try to make it a bit taller than the average Pelian soldier as well.

So far looks good but... M.A.R.S.es legs are bigger than the whole robot itself. But still the style of the robot is good. DLed and testing...

I like it, but the feet of the MARS are a tad too big. Downloaded regardless.

The Pelian Army *Updated Very Often*
Ok, I like the Brain. It just has a nice shape and style. Like the Turret Bots from "N". In the last MARS weapon .gif, a ghost of the bullet still passes through even after the bullet has done it's work. I like that effect, intentional, or not. I like the idea, concept, and execution of the "Conflagrator" quite a bit. That's one of the gems here. The "Creamator" is also a really nice looking weapon, and I expect that it works well in combat. The AfterEffects on the bomb are very nice. If it causes as little lag as it does in the .gif, then it should be a useful military asset. Hint: Make all the explosion particles negative mass for less lag. If they already are, you have learned well from Maximdude's map wipe. In a nutshell, this is a nice little faction that I recommend people to download (even though i haven't done so myself ).

The game appears to crash whilst using the heavy turret weapons on normal actors, I should probably just use them as intended, or perhaps use a better computer.... oh dear, am I about to make a minimum $1100 (AUD) purchase just to play as an assault robot with what appears to be a shoulder mounted ridiculo-shotgun?... I guess I am.

Raintail99 wrote: Well, there's other uses for computer upgrades... wat @411570N3: I'm afraid i can't take responsibility of incorrect usage of the hardware. ;o @zalo: Nice long post, thanks! Anyways, a few comments: The "ghost" of the Autocannon bullet isn't intentionally passing through, but hey, if it looks cool... Also, the gif of the PlanetKiller is a bit old, the aftereffect looks somewhat different in-game. Also, it does cause some lag, but it's quite mild, considering the power of the bomb. @teh somebody: The ratio between the legs and head/torso is actually more like 50-50, it's just not that easy to see because the legs obscure the very lowest part of the torso. And in other news, i moved the soldiers' heads forward a little... ... So now they look like they're more "into" the fight, and the heavy bloke doesn't look like a fatass as much as he did before. I'm having trouble thinking out a design for the Assault Robot though. One that says "I CAN TAKE A TANK SHELL TO THE FACE, ♥♥♥♥♥".

Look at some Ratchet and Clank enemies. They are great at looking ridiculously powerful then dying when you brush past them

Re: [WIP] The Pelian Army *Update: March 6th*
No mechs in here, only a robots. :V (NO CREW, GET IT?) And it's not the giant robot i'm changing, it's the man-sized one. And no, it's not powered armor, it's a man-sized robot. The soldiers are the only humans in this pack. @Bladecat: Thanks for the tip.

No problem. While I'm at it I'll take a look at Keith Thompson art and see if something is there. He's got a whole section for his rather epic drawings of robots. EDIT:There's the Orbital Delegate, or the Romulus, which has a sketch of itself without its armor, so you get a good idea of some attachments. I think the Romulus wouldn't do well with the picky physics, so the OD is better. It doesn't have attachment sketches though.
