Wrapping up a few more things, then I'll get R9 sorted out and uploaded. Been wrangling with more hardware problems and so haven't had a whole lot of inspiration/time for working on the mod the last few days.

I'm not a wizard. If someone doesn't work on the sprites, there's nothing I can really do.

At the moment I'm working with some more juicy Lua scripts from CaveCricket, to give the Portable Launcher some love and turn it into a genuine Missile Launcher with lockon/laser guidance systems. We're still debugging a few things though.

Experimenting with lock-on sprites/effect; a fragmentation missile streaks towards a dropship.

Just wait 'til you get to try it, it's a fantastic weapon, and an absolute pleasure to use.

R9 seems to have suddenly turned into an "overhaul the missile launcher" update, not that I'm complaining! Just waiting on Cave to get back to me with some more tweaks to the ML and Veng Launcher scripts, and then we should be good to go. All the bugs have been ironed out, I think.

If anyone wants to submit their own target effects, I am taking submissions - just post them here and I'll pick out the best ones. Assuming I get any. They're done as glows at the moment (so no animation, black background, no color restrictions) and are currently 75x75, so try to keep them around that size; I'd say 50x50 or so as the lower limit. Too small and they won't be noticeable; too large and it'll look silly. The diamond comes in three flavours; the stock blue, or if you prefer, there are red and green variants too.

For any submissions, remember to avoid flat colours or it'll look bland and tacky at best, and probably hideous at worst.

Oh, I apologize then. I didn't see the post.

I believe I could try my hand at a Leman Russ. But I don't know what model would work best. I'm thinking Executioner.

Not too shabby, but a little bland, I think. Since they're mostly pure colour with very little white for highlighting, I doubt they will highlight their intended target particularly well, or be particularly eyecatching.

There are plenty of variants that would work. I'd stick to ones without sponsons though - the sponsons can't flex backwards or rotate up and down (much), so there's not much point portraying them. Figuring out how to do the 2 guns on one unit will be tricky ehough, nevermind 3~4.

I'd rather see other things done before vehicles (first post wishlist!), but if you really want to try spriting and perhaps coding it, then I won't try and stop you. ;)

an installer that allows you to select one or more factions to install/ not install would be nice.

It would also be way too much trouble. I mean, it's not impossible, but it requires far too much time for a fairly simple improvement.

Whilst I wait for more news on the missile scripts, going to go and retune plasma weapons a bit.

Also, tested the Marines out vs The ZombBots. Went better than expected.
Explosive bolts; very ineffective. Kraken bolts; not too bad. Didn't test the other types.
Only tested the Lascannon out of the laser weapons; not too shabby, but make sure you hit the body.
Plasma weapons; probably one of the best options.
Melta weapons; the best option, hands down.

Quick question, would making the clip size on these guns -1 break them?
i did that and now they dont fire the normal beam of HOT FIERY ANGER Liquid promethium.

As a big 40k fan (specifically, a Space Marine fan) I've been loving this mod ever since I downloaded it - there's nothing quite as satisfying as hosing a squad of approaching hostiles with a heavy bolter, and watching the gibs fly.

That, or having an assault marine dual wield storm bolters...need I say more?

However, I have come across one slight problem with the mod - not a bug, as such, mind you:

The problem lies with the space marine sergeant, or more specifically, his lack of some kind of jetpack. The reason this is a problem is due to the fact that the sergeant acts as the brain/command unit for the space marines in weegee's 'Unmapped Lands' mod. As such, certain missions are unwinnable because the lack of said jetpack makes it impossible to progress, as he simply cannot reach the intended destination.

Other than that, this is a cracking mod that I am enjoying immensely, and as such I look forward to any future updates that are planned.

Been recently thinking about Dawn of war lately and it got me thinking, Why not make Wargear pickable for certian actors.

such as a jetpack that can be picked up and used, Or a teleporter etc.

This could work like the ammo packs you get with DarkStorm
