No love for the Assault Cannon, guys? :(

Got a few more toys to look at before next release, but the more I look at them, the more the sprites seem subtly off somehow. I think they just kind of clash a bit with the current visual style (both of the actors, existing weapons, and CC itself) a little too much...

Still haven't tried that autoweapons thing either. Someone got me Saints Row: The Third when it was half-off on Steam and I managed to get my PC stable enough to play it, so that's where all my development time has been going lately!

Early WIP shot, not final!

Foomp foomp foomp. So far it's pretty much a beefed up Remote-GL, I'll see if I can do something exciting with it later.

Even if it is just a modified remote-GL, still looks freakin' awesome!

Also sending love for the assault cannon, because it will mow ♥♥♥♥ down faster than even the heavy bolter.

Since most of my perceptions about 40k come from DoW (I read fluff too so don't go all like "ARGH THAT GAME IS SO NON CANON" or whatever) i made the heavy bolter into a high rate of fire normal bolter (also cause the kraken bolts had some wicked kick back which made it harder to use).

if this assault cannon is a high RoF bolter i'd be hyped for it cause i kinda miss the heavy bolter being a relatively slow RoF weapon with big ♥♥♥♥ ammo.

you know what this mod needs?

titans

big

♥♥♥♥ off

titans

i'm kidding, however this mod needs one of those little titans, like the raptor/reaver/warhound or whatever it's called. and for the termies to not look kinda tarded...

all suggestions, so don't attack me saying i'm demanding to much. just constructive input.

We've already covered Titans, Classing them as too big.

I think a Warhound would be about the same size as the largest Adeptus mech Nax was looking at spriting (give or take), but the biggest issue is that of deploying them to a scene. Well, that and the fact Cortex Command just isn't made to support actors that large. Sure it's been done, but the engine wasn't made with that sort of thing in mind, and actors of that size tend to sort of... flip out if they get shoved around by flying debris, unless scripts were borrowed from other mods.

Barring divine intervention, Titans just aren't going to happen. Same goes for other vehicles unless someone else wants to tackle it. This particular horse is dead and thoroughly pulverized, can we stop beating it now?

Still fine-tuning the Assault Cannon's firepower; getting the balance between 'annihilates enemies' and 'annihilates terrain' right is tricky. 1,500 RPM eats the 200rd mag in 8 seconds.

Sorry for the horribly insensitive question, but why exactly is Warhammer 40,000 so popular?
If I recall correctly, it's a table top game, but if that's so, then how did it become so well known?

The Lore and story mostly, also it's one of the best tabletop games i've played so far.

uhh, not really. before dawn of war came out it may have been huge in the table top world but no one else knew about it.

I've had friends and made acquaintances online who are into it or have been and say it's an EXTREMELY time consuming and expensive hobby.

the games are the reason for the popularity we have today. it's way to hardcore to be this popular all by itself.

Sorry if I have missed this but will there be land raiders and the likes in this mod at some stage? I think the Random map mod (With it's capability of making maps HUGE) it can be possible to make bases and such with warehouses and I'm letting my creativity take this too far.

Basically, with the Random map mod we can make maps big enough for full scale battles which make it possible for aircraft and vehicles.

breaking away from the topic, i seem to notice that WH40K is almost a precursor to Dune and that entire game/book/movie series.

There's a perfectly good 40K discussion topic elsewhere on these very forums, thank you.
