Re: Shamsy Electric Technologies - update 11/11/09
I've been using this mod a lot lately and I just wanted to say I really love it. However you have a few things you can fix as I'm sure you know. I will probably post more later but off the top of my head:
The jumping for the moving turret thing is too much. For example I will purchase a rocket and it will jump out and fly past the maps boundaries.
The heavy unit's walking needs fixing. It seems to spend 90% of the time with its legs half in the ground.
Other than that keep working on it. It is a great faction so far.

Re: Shamsy Electric Technologies - update 11/11/09
The arms on the battle-suit/mech come far too often for the units to be useful. I've had the battle-suit's arms pop off twice now in a minor collision with the ceiling. ...it's rather ridiculous.

Well, I have a hunch that the JointStiffness is the one that's causing trouble. I'll try tweaking them so you can have fully-limbed battlesuits and mechs.
Yeah, I'll tweak the foot on the mech also, the standpath and walkpath mostly. Because it does strange things.
@labrat ben: ask Oobagoo, he's the one who made the screenshot.
I'll release a new version when I finish the dropship. Right now, collegework is killing me and simultaneously ripping me a new one. May be free somewhat in late January, iunno.

I like it! I want to know how I can use this mod to replace the regular enemy AI.

@basti: Wait until the dropship's done, and I'll pack in an activities file. The activities file will allow you to fight against my guys instead of the usual vanilla dudes, but you'd need to disable the vanilla activities over at missions.rte and activate the activities in SET's folder. Sounds confusing? We're in the same boat.

I wouldn't say that they're "Egyptian", i think they look like some kind of desert warfare corps. Unless thats what you meant? Also robots. DOWNLOAD'd

Bumpdate. Now with a shield that can burn down offenders close enough, and fixes to stuff. Battlesuit and mech arms mostly, and the electric rifle is now super-deadly.

The powersuits are now really tough, which is much better than before. Electric rifle works wonder at neutralizing targets.
The doggy is still crippled though :'(
