LowestFormOfWit wrote: Another new weapon coming along for this guy. Just an improved version of the grenade launcher that will be able to switch to different grenade types. Currently planned are the basic Impulse/Disruptor grenades, with a possible third option being an incendiary or landmine-proximity triggered type grenade. Sprite is in the early stages and is heavily based off the Heavy Bolter from W40K: I think 3 unique weapons will be enough for this little guy. I've made an impulse grenade launcher that I never released... its more of a grenade sniper-rifle, unfortunately it's quite boring because I can't seem to ever make good sprites. I'd have uploaded a while ago but I thought it was boring and people would go "oh gee, its the dummys who cares" so... you want it? Attachment:

there it is it seems to insta-pwn everything that it actually hits as long as nothings in the way. for crowds, Aim at the ceiling above them. feel free to replace the sprites, because they're crap, the sounds because they're boring, and the code because it's imbalanced. if I ever go back to trying to mod seriously, I'll probably re-included this version in some sort of compilation but whatever, it's basic enough that it doesn't mater... take it.

UPDATE: Launcher has an updated sprite! Working on the functionality for the switching (having some problems getting it to work), but spritewise this is semi-final:

mmmmmmmm
The only thing now is that you might want to add some links to those grenades. Also, how possible/easy would it be to make the number of grenades hanging off the front tie in to the number left in the mag?
Actually, you might also want some outlining on the dummy symbol, it looks a little odd right now.

Looks a bit too clean.

It will take a (hopefully) simple Lua script to just change the Magazine sprite out. Knowing how odd Lua is though, it probably won't change the Magazine directly, and I'll end up making the actual Magazine a null sprite, with just an Lua-stuck-on sprite that changes based on shots fired/ammo remaining, depending on which I can call easier in a script. I like things like the Dummy Dropship, which are clean cut and smooth for the most part.

I'm pretty sure Lua on magazines is broken.

Ok. After providing some better sprites for the arms, and hopefully making a better looking leg, this is what I have so far: The magazine is off a little. I'll tweak it later.

Grenade launcher is too smooth, it needs something to break it up, like beveling.

I think the grenade spins a little too much for its velocity and the grenade launcher is held too high; it's really heavy so holding it lower is more intuitive. Otherwise, amazing! I'm looking forward to playing with your HIU and all its new toys.

I could try to add some depth, but the Heavy Bolter I based the sprite on is actually pretty flat-on, with only a few indents and extruding faces. I could add rivets or something... I'm looking forward to playing with your HIU and all its new toys. The template I used was the original grenade launcher for the Dummy Faction. The actual shot speed/etc hasn't changed from the vanilla one, yet. This one will up the velocity a bit. A for where it's held, again I used the W40K Heavy Bolter as a reference. The main reason it isn't lower than it is currently is to avoid the bottom of the 3-grenade magazine from being lower than the Heavy Dummy's feet.

If it's supposed to be flat, why the gradient?

I don't know if this was intentional or something, but the colors on the Dummy symbol are switched. Where yellow is, the brown/black should be and vice versa.
EDIT: Also, just to be a little nitpicky, since this weapon is obviously fired from the hip there is no reason to have a front sight at all. There's no stock on the weapon either so that also means no purpose for the sight.
EDIT2: Here is my idea for a little more flair to the weapon. Now it's poorly done, so don't go expecting a ton, but I took off the yellow piece over the trigger and handguard assembly. Makes it seem a little less chunky to me. I also removed the front sight and in its place added sort of another hangdguard. It looks like a little yellow wave right now but the general shape is there. I added 3 rivets to the lower portion of it, just to spice that area of the gun up a little. I didn't index this properly but I'm sure you will. Kept the smaller sprite in there for side-by-side comparison.
