Valk stuff

i finished it ages ago, it was in the same folder with the lascannon and other stuff.

and i just notice a few weapons i already sprited are not in, (assuming you're still trying to code them in)

edit: chaos fans, feast your eyes on what could be my best sprite to date.

not counting the helmet im still annoyed at it oddly.

 YES!!! I always loved those chaos and besides it kinda makes sense that a brain in a jar could control them
on to the sprites the headpiece does seem to be at the wrong prospective, but the body and bolter are just awesome!

Post Re: Warhammer 40K Compilation [R4.5 Out!]
as i said im not fully fond on the helm, so i'm going to have to fiddle about with it since it hard to do one quite well despite my experiance of spriting. it may appears that ketten or nax to fix it up for me if i don't get around to it, Either way i'll start on the Sash tomorrow after i get back from job center and Shaw's trust and i also start on the Inferno Boltpistol and the tzeentch power sword. (force sword) and maybe do the rubric sorcerer (which will be the brain unit for obvious reason that each squad requires a sorcerer) after rubric marines i'll do some Khorne brezkers and then noise marines and Plague bearers, at least i don't just do a simple recolour space marine for chaos itself :V.

Either way the helm will be sorted out tomorrow (unless ketten or Nax wishes to fix it for me) as well as me doing two more helm for more different looks.

Ah, I thought that was just a 'take a look at this progress update', my bad.

The combi-weapons are low-priority right now although I might take a shot at the bolter/plasma, and the multimelta requires a bit more shenanigans than I'm willing to deal with at the moment.

Now if you'll excuse me I have a hat to eat and terminators to code;

They're really well sprited but, aren't they too small?

Away from my intentions are the flames, constructive criticism its my goal,
once stated that, if you proceed with that tiny scale, knowing its wrong,
you'll proceed to terminator ass-raping.

Yes, you're right Nax, I used the torso sprite in the mod as a scale, without realizing a Marine's helmet would add far more height than a Terminator's. I think it would be fine if I were to increase the torso size.

Termis are on hold until I get those upscaled torsos and helmets, but otherwise the sheet is all split up and ready for coding. My plan is to make a 'master' template file and then another for each chapter which uses a lot of CopyOfs instead of large duplicate bits. This is mainly for ease of tweaking/etc. since the Terminators will be the first new actors besides the Sergeants and Kasrkin.

Might need a hand with the walkpaths but I'll cross that bridge (ha!) when I come to it.

@LVK: You're definitely improving! Keep at it. :)

Thank's.

Anyone got any suggestions on how to make the Rubric marine "head dress" look less 2D? cause i been raging almost all night yestoday about it.

also as well as sorting that headdress, which one i should do next out of these two?
Image

EDIT: also where should i connect the sash? as in should i shove it as part of the "body" sprite or lay it on top of the legs sprite?

Wow, is that image from any W40K game that I should know? You know, I've never played any W40K game.

Now, on a complete related-unrelated note, you can always ask me to code the gunship.

'Cause, I hope sooner than later, you'll see a not-so-common gunship flying around this forums.

it was a mod for the early Dawn of war games, for Dawn of war dark crusade it was called firestorm over kronus, as for soulstorm it was called firestorm over Kravuna, it's basicly a "closer to the Codex" mod, chaos had units from every god, rubric marine plague marines etc, inculding demons, Space marine has some other stuff i forget, imperial guards had 3 different setup's to use improved units at the cost of other things. i.e inquisitor , tank , troops.

and some other stuff i forget. basicly it just a GREATLY expanded Dawn of war which i personally enjoy.

If you want to have a go at it, don't let anyone stop you. ;) I definitely can't do everything and I'll have my hands full with these Terminators soon.

Ed: Same goes for making the Chaos/Blood Pact factions as mentioned at the top of the page, although I think it's best if we did those as a seperate 'W40KChaos.rte' folder so that they're under their own headings in the buy menu.

I wouldn't be able to code it soon since, my not-so-common gunship is still in the works.

Any possible way to attach it to the BG leg? Would it be possible to sprite it in such a way that the FG leg covers it most of the time?

Please don't quote images. :(

That said, I'd probably do it as part of the torso, so that the background leg renders under the cloth, but the foreground one is over it most of the time.

That or a seperate attachable maybe.
