Cool, thanks a lot Also, i think you guys (EXALION YA MONGREL) will like how the new rocket sprite is turning up... Personally i'm amazed at the fact that i've actually made it, so far. It's still work in progress, of course. Still needs shading in some places, and dithering in others. And no, those blue outlines of the doors are not final, they're going to be changed. Fun thing is? Exalion was totally right >.>

Yeah thats what I meant about the random shapes. Those green armor plates look very out of place. Instead of making it as random plates in the center, you could make the rocket wrapped in a layer of armor like the turrets and the brain. The rocket's body could have 4 sections of armor. (2 large plates on each side.)
Or even better, design a logo or write "P. A." on the rocket vertically in green letters. It will look much better. Also those two tiny windows near the doors look bad imo. Try to replace them or remove them altogether.
Something more that I could suggest is make the main thruster visible below it and have it connected with the main body by a cord or some tube or wires or just blended somehow with the rocket. Then since the rocket is larger than the vanilla Mk1, you should give it a larger output of fireballs.

You need to shade the green parts, or they seem like rectangles stuck on a cylinder.

Fire. Heehee. @TrouserDemon: It's not the finished sprite. Also, the green plates have been removed, and replaced with... Well, see for yourself: Eh? Also, this isn't the final sprite either. But off to bed i go!

Nice. Now we're talking. A nice, cold, industrial-strength shaft of metal. That looks like something a military might produce. Honestly, in the future, things aren't going to look like they have a bunch of random features on them unless the features are absolutely necessary due to needed functions and equipment. This captures that pretty well. I'm looking forward to the bottom part. One suggestion: either center the lettering better to where they'd logically have the same dimensions, or flatten the rightmost lettering to make it look like its wrapping around the cylinder.

Perhaps add a little bit of texture too, like a few small scratches here and there. Just to break up the metal sheen.

I'd demand a refund! ...though I guess you're not buying the rocket as much as you are paying some insurance against its damage or destruction. So it could be a used rocket.

Going through the debris field that almost certainly exists in near orbit, decoupling from the home ship, there's plenty of reason for a rocket, even a new one, to have a few scratches.

Heck no, scratches are only for the gibs. And maybe Shook makes the rocket just explode with a bright flash and leave nothing behind like the DarkStorm dropship.
I like the improvements, now it looks much more official and cooler. All it needs is a detailed main engine that Shook is working on now anyways.

Bright explosion is a must, but i may/may not add gibs. Depends on how lazy i feel. Maybe i could make it so that there's a whole wrecked chassis behind after the 'splosion... Probably not. @Duh102: It's made of the same material as the MARS. Even bullets will hardly scratch it. But of course, it IS going to be destructible. No rockets without destroying them :3 (AKA the wounds will cause damage, and the material is likely a tad softer) @Darlos9D: Thanks. It's not going to be easy to flatten the text though, as that would make all the letters be 4 pixels tall >.> I'll try my best though.

Dunno, turned out pretty well i think... Not sure about the bottom, but hey, a rocket doesn't need to have an overly huge/long thruster to be effective. (Internal tubes get) Of course, it's going to have a cone at the end, so it won't be *exactly* like you see here. Also, i've been thinking a little about the landing legs... Maybe i should get rid of the attached legs altogether, add them to the chassis instead, and give the chassis a higher impulse resistance? Just a couple of rigid rods, and possibly a couple of diagonal ones to prevent it from tipping over.

Seems a little bare, maybe a few rust patches?
Maybe a little door panel or a plaque saying the name of the rocket?

Nah, but what i AM going to do is to slap on two large, green armor plates at the sides, where it is slightly slimmer. Also, just made the necessary frames for the doors to open. Harr. Pretty much just needing the coding now. And the armor. Edit: Haha! Not done yet though, still needs some tweaking and gibbing. Edit2: Oh lawd, is dat sum gib lines? My shaky hand is perfect for making cracky lines >.>

Re: [WIP] The Pelian Army *Update: October 19th '08*
Nonono, you should rather do a large flashy plasma explosion that leaves almost nothing behind from the explosion. Maybe just a few default Grey Metal Gib Mirco things and some spark yellows to make it look a little more detailed.
Really, you are absolutely awesome when it comes to plasma explosions. And you really should apply that to this rocket. You could say the rocket has a plasma engine or something and you can use that to create cool thruster flames and so on.
I also used to thing that gibs should be done like that but I was terribly wrong. In the end it looked like the rocket was a torn apart piece of paper by hands when it gibbed.
When you want to make detailed gibs, you must make the gibbing layered. When it(the rocket) gibs, the sprite doesnt just brake into small slices, no. Instead, it gibs the rocket's frame, the armor plates, its engine and its operating computer/pilot all seperately. Then the gibs will look great when going with this style.
Take a good look at the Rocket Mk1's gibs. You'll notice the same thing I said above.
