Post Re: Orange, Blue and Red dummy re-sprites
I can really thank you for trying but, at least try to think of something ORIGINAL.
Like, even the DUM-Es were thought to be resprited, but turned out to have attachable armor, something most other people don't even think about.

Now don't take me wrong but, these should both be in the mod dump, also comprising of which, the mod dump has some far superior mods.
Take adasx10's Desert Soldiers or Grifs Blender thing, they both could probably have been less flamed if it were in it's own topic.

Further more, a single actor or simple resprites do not earn a place for it's own separate thread.
The best we can do is merge the threads so we won't get cluttered by resprites.

Now i suppose your gong to read this and get really mad at me, but please, do as the above says.

I think that since any and all things useful have already been said, a lock would be useful to circumvent a firepit. OP, dont release 1st mods, thats what this is for: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=16863 either put it in there, or work on it untill its better.

That's not a very useful rule. First mods can be great, depending on the user. Conversely, twentieth mods mightn't even warrant posting in the minor mod dump. It's better to just apply common sense rather than an arbitrary rule.

I agree with Allstone. I also think that this mod would have been a decent candidate for the mod dump, since some people would like some colorful dummies.

I like how one of the biggest spammy space-wasters is being the most vocal and inflammatory telling this guy off. It's as if he pictures he's someone who's job it is to enforce the law. And he's from New Jersey.

In any case this is not a great mod, OP. Think about it from our point of view. If someones else released a mod that consisted merely of poor recolours, would you download it? I remember someone making some Dummy recolours where each were slightly different from another, like the Ronin. Perhaps you could try something like that?

And I agree with the others in that 1st mods can be great, look at OAU by Jon. Fantastic. And look at lafe. He's getting pretty good, but it's taken him quite a few mods. Just think about it from other people's point of view.

Hello there! It's iWhiteBot here with another mod...
A green dummy!
It has quite good strenght everywhere, so you could use this one in your bunker as a guard or something.

Your one-actor variable-edit still has the folder "Dummy Template."
Honestly man.

Now, it is not a bad place to start, but it is generally discouraged to do things like post first mods, resprites, variable edits, or really, really unfinished work. I think this is all of those.

Why the hell is this its own release? Slow down and listen to people, please. You only need one thread for your mods, as they are all exactly the same. You only need ONE MOD, as it would collect all of your... recolors.

Do not stop trying to make interesting things, but please make interesting things.

I'm still trying to compromise, instead of each and every last thread of yours getting locked and junked.

See, I'm nice.

Seraph, I honestly think you're mean.

A large fraction of people on the forum are probably of the perfectly reasonable opinion that all of the threads should have been deleted and you warned or otherwise officially disciplined. So no, Seraph is not in any way mean and saying he is is not a particularly intelligent course of action seeing as he is a person in a position of power already having shown you multiple mercies.

iWhiteBot, you have yet to learn the 'implied' etiquette of the forums. I'm not really in a position to speak in a 'holier-than-thou' attitude, but unless you think the mod is either original (i.e has major changes or does not bear any resemblance to any other mod in the 'mod releases' sub-forum) or is anything that people will actually want to download that they couldn't otherwise do themselves, it should go in the minor mod dump (especially if it's a small mod, like one weapon/actor), or, not released at all. Seraph has done you a favor by merging your 3 threads into a personal 'mini-mod dump', to avoid clutter.

Okay, look at all the other mods that are currently on the front page. They are either:

A) Big packs, with brand new weapons and actors.
B) Modified vanilla content with new and very exciting awesome stuff that fits in with the original content.
C) Single weapons, that are so well made and presented they may as well be entwined with the very spirit of god himself for the next three weeks.

Now your three mods, despite breaking no rules, don't consist of any of the above three. Now there's a general stance that we don't like "First mod" style releases. This is stuff like recolouring original stuff, or turning an assault rifle into a bullet hose that ruins the map. It's old, it's boring and quite frankly it's easy.

Now the ♥♥♥♥ storm that these three mods could cook up could have ended up with three locks, some warnings and generally leave me with a eye out for you. But like I said you haven't broken any rules, but I'm going to let you know right now that it's not best to release this kind of stuff. Definitely do it to muck around and see what you can do, but try and find something interesting to actually release.

And don't tell me it'll put off modders, we've had quite a few new people join, recently and they're doing just fine - if you can't take criticism (Even up to the point of downright flaming) you should probably just become a librarian. Or learn to deal with it.

I know how to fix this post it in minor mod dump for mods that aren't the "Best"

That has been suggested before. The minor mod dump is also not a place to dump mods that are not up to par with the standards of a standalone thread because they suck, just that they are too small to put in their own topic. There are really great minor mods like the Blender, lazer revolver and a ton of other fun stuff in there, among the others.
