I've managed to centralize the blast sound, and optimized the blast itself, improving the lag to power ratio. While it's laggy, it's much more powerful.
I used some stuff from firecrystal's realistic C4 mod.
I'll take down the upload if the OP or firecrystal want me to.

I used some stuff from firecrystal's realistic C4 mod. Thanks, I was having trouble integrating your last bit of code for the velocity. Though now that I look at your upload I do not see what I did that is different, other than p.Lifetime = 0. To get one explosion sound per detonation, I tried to use Code: AudioMan:PlaySound("Base.rte/Sounds/Explode2.wav", 7, 0.5, 1) but that gives the error AudioManager:PlaySound(custom [class RTE:Sound]*, number, custom [float], custom [double]) and many overlapping tinny explosion sounds. New version on the OP now by the way.

PlaySound is buggy. Looks like the offsets are off. Also, sometimes, the C4 gets stuck in the air for some reason. The explosion has way too many effects in it. I'd recommend removing the glows and the napalm effects. This would need a new sprite, also.
Apart from the above, this is a very interesting mod. Well done!

All, except the offset, of which I have already mentioned needs to be done, and the napalm is already gone. Did you download and test the inlined 0.5 version (which is the newest) or the first release from the bottom of the page?

Also (but that's nothing more than my opinion) it goes boom way too violently and particles fly too far away - and, because the range of spraying is so small, it easily kills my own actor.

The vanilla C4 is not even remotely safe to stay near either when it goes off. Part of what might make this spray more likely to cause trouble farther is related to the attempt to simulate a concussive wave pushing other particles away, and is something that needs a bunch of tweaking. Video of 3oz C4 blowing up a cabinet and hitting the distant camera man with shrapnel.

Well now there is an idea. A projectile that on impact places a globule of C4 on target. They had an anti armor warhead that worked similarly. It would impact on the armor and smoosh up against it forming a rough pancake like shape then detonate causing bits of the armored target to break of on the inside from the shock wave and bounce around the vehicle cabin. You could use a shot gun or a grenade launcher to do something similar.

Lol, I just did that for myself. Same thing as this, but a Sniper Rifle with 10 shots. Each shot = 1 pixel of c4. 4 shots is roughly equivalent to 1 pixel of c4 from the sprayer.
It's ♥♥♥♥ awesome.

Like a warhead that spreads an explosive substance, liquid, gas, or power, doesn't really matter, just before it hits the target. And the impact causes a wide explosion to just thud against the armour.

You could make a regular bullet that on impact, sticks to whatever it hits (I assume actors are easy with lua now), then scale a little C4 blob sprite up as if it's expanding foam or whatnot, then second detonate it (ideally make a hotkey for it so you don't need a second item as a detonator).
