Re: Starcraft Ghost
Personally, I like the mod a lot, but to get over my frustration over how weak he is; I ended up making his sprite ever so slightly transparent and edited his code so that the computer wouldn't shoot at him on sight.
Good work, but he could use a stealth feature or something similar to over-come his innate weakness.

Re: Starcraft Ghost
Could'nt the stealth be done with a gun that temporarily puts you underground? This would have to be done with Lua of course.

Re: Starcraft Ghost
Guns don't use Lua. Scenes do.
And it might be possible, but the only way I can think of doing it would probably kill you as well, or just be too slow.

It's a bizarre, intentional MO-Terran glitch.

Re: Starcraft Ghost
Yes, but it could still be used. Maybe coupled with a quick digger blast to clear room underground, this could make a subterranean hiding machine.

Re: Starcraft Ghost
Or, ya know, you could just make it so the computers ignore all parts of the actor, I did it in about 10 seconds guys..

Re: Starcraft Ghost
But how would you make it so the unit can switch that on and off?

Re: Starcraft Ghost
You can't.
But if you use distraction particles(hard to see actors), you can make a gun or a shield that makes the AI unable to target properly.

Re: Starcraft Ghost
Switching it on and off? Well I'm sure not about that, I just settled for having the Ghost constantly 'stealthed'.
Then again, you can make weapons that spawn living actors can't you?
Make two actors, one of them being this Ghost, another is the Ghost edited to be ignored by the enemy.
Equip Standard Ghost with a weapon, sprited and called a Cloaking Device, that actually spawns/gibs out the 2nd Ghost while using recoil or something similar to kill the original.
Then you've got a Fake-Death and Invisibility device all-in-one.
Then again the real issue is making the weapon spawn a new, living actor.
Edit : I just remembered, Solace's Super-Natural Division has a weapon makes living actors..so it's perfectly possible.

Re: Starcraft Ghost
Via ABomb(bullet to craft with actor, craft gibs).
The only flaw with your idea is that an actor invisible to the AI is also immune to bullets, assuming you used GetsHitByMOs = 0).

But not to MOSR's which are becoming popular as ammunition, or just being squished. Ofcourse a highly-trained individual like a Ghost who is supposed to be psychic would be able to easily dodge bullets. So I don't think too many would complain about that feature. The people who don't like the idea are free to improve upon it, but it seems something similar to what I've said is about as close as possible to toggle-able 'stealth'.

But being hit in the face by an exploding grenade should kill most humans.

Re: Starcraft Ghost
the underground shop cannot be done in current CC. we dont have lua for guns so the only option would be to use recoil to slam him into the ground which would result in paste in a crater.
