So yeah, my optimism proved correct. It's pretty simple, really; just go into the Loadouts.ini for UniTec.rte and change all the instances of actors to Specimen (whatever number).

There's only two of those guys, so there won't be an entire faction.
But next version they'll be buyable through UniTec once more, as are the WEC soldiers.
The Doom marines will be enlisted by SHIELD when in-campaign.

I offered help for re-spriting all actors into zombified version excepting the robots and all the craft,
as some kind of Halloween special pack... but once again, my suggestion was cut off before even start...

Could someone support my request to make Gotcha consider it?

That seems pretty reasonable. How long have you been working on this mod? It's become pretty spectacular, and certainly one of the forum favorites.

Just out of curiosity, would you be willing to allow Naxete to make his set of sprites, simply for those of us who'd like to see them? A zombified UniTec cast, while not exactly in keeping with the spirit of the mod, does pique my curiosity.

I wouldn't mind that at all. As long as I don't have to do the work for it. ;)
Heck, I'd even put any unitec mods you people make in the opening post.

But I know Naxete all too well, and he expects me to do all the work. Sorry, pal. Not gonna happen. :lol:

Edit: Naxete: If you're making all fleshy actors into zombies, you could make all non-fleshies look like they're splattered in blood. Just a thought.

Not exactly the triumphant success I was hoping for but it's the best I've got for the time being and I think it's pretty decent. I finally had the few hours free I needed to get this done so I want to post it up.
It can now reliably hold up to three actors. Any more than that and you'll start dropping some. It should be crash free (i.e. shooting an actor while he's being held won't cause problems) and otherwise pretty stable within the 3 actor limit. While I can see some of the problems still I can't for the life of me figure out why it always drops at least one once you put more than 3. Still, it's slightly more stable than before and I've cleaned it up so it's less convoluted for when I want to try this again (or if anyone else does for that matter). I'm gonna take a break from this for now though, I've got a lot of other stuff I've been putting off.

You'll need to replace the 3 lua files and craft.ini in Unitec.rte/Actors. Hope there are no unaddressed problems.

I'm planning to change it around some more eventually both ini and lua so I figure there's no problem changing the ini already. Let me know if it gives you any trouble with 3 or fewer actors.

I'll make a comment in the description warning people to only buy up to 3 actors at a time when using chutes.

Another question: Since UniTec/SHIELD/Zealots have been separated I am tossing most presets out of here.
Anyone against it?
