More than once, it has been made clear that CC is not only not going to happen because of limitations of the engine or of Data's attention span, but also because of physical limitations, especially bandwidth. This is like the fourth time you've tried to prove to us that you're some kind of cunning sleuth because you debunked a shitty prank. This is the result of 3 chuckleheads getting together on March 31st to come up with the stupidest possible prank on the forums - and, in following with forum tradition, we came up with a mod that is currently impossible and claimed to have made it.


The problem here being that we cannot go to each member of the forum's house and fill their truck with fish, fill their school's fountain with jello, request the game on their local radio station, replace their bed with a pile of bricks, or violate their privates with itching powder. In fact, if you ask me, causing any kind of physical damage like the aforementioned pranks is far worse than tricking a few people on the internet.


Did we ever say anyone was stupid? Did we ever even say anything rude? We put up a fake mod for something we all know will never happen and then followed through with it for less than a day. This didn't even harm people's computers. And, as you've pointed out before, there were plenty of flaws with it (did nobody think that connectiontools.ini sort of gave it away?) and anybody who got so seriously emotionally involved in this that they think it is necessary to have a public outcry should probably seek professional health.


And we didn't know that we wouldn't get online play? I mean, considering the amount of times we've debunked this one, I would think people would catch on. And, in fact, they did - within the first page of the topic.


Yeah, don't blame me for making your entire rant look like a temper tantrum, either. It wasn't much of a rant.

And to everyone else who is saying this was mean and comparing us to puppy-grinders, keep in mind that it's a joke. This was not intended to hurt anyone, it was intended for a few laughs. April Fools' day is for just this kind of thing, and I wouldn't have pulled it on any other day. Really, it's not like we actually made this mod and then teased you - we put up a prank mod that most people know isn't possible and never will be. How you guys can possibly be so emotionally touched by an April Fools' day prank that you have to post about it to us is really beyond me. Did you guys feel the same emotional pain when you realized you couldn't order one of these? Really, you shouldn't have this much emotional investment in a mod for a little game on the internet. I can understand if maybe we had tricked you into thinking one of the members of the forum had died (which has happened before), or even that Cortex Command was canceled forever. But is this really that difficult to cope with? 5 minutes before you downloaded the mod, you didn't think it was possible. Did that fake-o video with horrible lag effects really convince you SO MUCH that it was possible that you are now willing to outpour your emotions onto an online forum? Think about it, because I seriously doubt any of you are at that level.
