^ What he said. I've tried to open the Online Scene 5 times now, and each time it goes "CCPLAYER####### has disconnected, returning to main screen" :/

Oh man, I love watching "skip-to-the-end"-ers posting stuff. It's like reliving the memory all over again!

Ya know what would have been good? A Trojan inside the files :0
also, when MP is (hopefully) someday achieved, a nub will come here and say :" I KNEW IT!"

Define exactly what I missed, if I'm grouped in that category in your mind.

It was all Dauss' idea! No, really, though, it was.

We obviously didn't mean any serious offense to anyone; and for those pointing out that it could have been better organized: this was the result of literally a few hours of effort, total. As in, Dauss had the idea, talked to TLB and I, and we finished it all within the space of maybe four hours.

Yeah, it was a bit mean, and I will personally apologize for doing some rather harsh mod editing in the first few pages of the thread, but, really, it was all a joke. And, the crucial difference between this and the other "april fool's" mod threads? We had an .rte; we lied about the contents (in fun only) but we actually had an .rte, which is required by the rules.

what you planned and worked on, for 4 hours, I debunked in under 5 minutes, at 2AM. I've seen better pranks pulled in less time. Here's an example

your 'target' for the prank, has a pickup truck.
Line the truck bed in plastic wrap.
Melt the palstic wrap together in one big water-tight sheet
Fill truck bed with water
Add 50 goldfish from the pet store (there like .25 each some places, really)
The majority of that time is filling the truck with water.

You released at what, 10PM the day before? you could have spent more time, and released at 2 AM, god only knows you where awake, after all, you replied. you could have had 8 hours. And I probably still would have got it.
I mean really, you could have used 2 controllers, and done split screen with a strange resolution, so you could have both players also do stupid ♥♥♥♥, to prove it was 2 people, but still have a standard 640x480 (since you'd be doubling height not width or something)

There's a HUGE number of things you could have done better, and most of them, I'm just pulling out of my ass as I type.

Also you guys need a beter idea of pranks

Pranks are funny things that make people go "wtf", like "my truck is full of fish" "the fountain at school is full of jello", "someone requested 'the game' over the radio", and even "someone replaced my bed with a pile of bricks", Hell even "someone injected itching powder into my tampons" could even be funny.

What you guys did, was not a prank, you just trolled.

"Oh hey, look at this amazing thing that we have, its so awesome, and we know you all want it, Oh to bad we lied, you're so stupid"

That's the same mentality of "oh, you downloaded my fake anti-virus thinking it would help you? ha ha, it's not an anti-virus, enjoy your broken computer", just not as advanced.

You two are going to a very special hell, you know that right?

to clarify, thats the guys who made this.

Special hell is right. it shall be a hell worse than the THQ developer hell, which I think is actually THQ itself.

If it makes any of you guys feel better, I believed it for a while, even had a conversation with Grif about some technical details, before TLB let it slip after miles posted.

If it makes you feel better, your B24 prank was at least funny, because everyone knew we wouldn't get transformer bunkers. Not that it isn't possible, with lua, Just that its ridiculous and stupid.

also, why blame me for ruining the joke, it wasn't much of a joke.

-edit-
yeah, that was a little harsh, my bad, but I stand by it.

Thank you Grif and TLB for punishing people that don't read threads before posting.
Miles.
Calm.
