This is awesome, but there is one major flaw when used against the AI It doesn't move fast enough to eat armed enemies.

Re: The Hydra - Mod Theme Contest Entry Wildlife
not really sometimes A.I will just standed there for no reason at all , when face with a wall or a huge pile of bodies so a well place Hydra that could reach thorght Piles could do the job but they would have to be an underground species or above ground species.
now theres an idea should you created an underground species of the hydra? that can attack its above ground cousin.

Re: The Hydra - Mod Theme Contest Entry Wildlife
This crashed me on a normal basis, but its tons of fun! maybe give it more hp?
6/10 -crashes often -sprite is meh -starts off at microbe size, and cant eat anything at that size.

Re: The Hydra - Mod Theme Contest Entry Wildlife
yea i think crashing is the biggest problem... why would it crash though exactly? all its doing is grabbing something, moving it, and killing it while getting bigger... right? im not saying that it was easy to make it do that. but why should it crash?

Because it's using Lua for everything?

Re: The Hydra - Mod Theme Contest Entry Wildlife
ok, makes sense... is there a way to make it NOT crash? while still using Lua?

Much of the crashing isn't really zalo's fault as such, and it would probably be out of our ability to fix.

Re: The Hydra - Mod Theme Contest Entry Wildlife
Some crash bugs found:
Crash when it is spawned and you try to reset/exit
Crash when you kill it with the Rocket launcher of Rawrels ------ Wow, it ate the Big enemy crab. Next up, the Behemoth.
Suggestion: As it reaches full size(1.5 times of a Dreadnought), it grows another arm, allowing it to eat more. Scary yet fun while it lasted.

Love it, I usualy use it to empty my pitfall traps that I make. 1. Make pit for others to fall into. 2. leave Hydra in pit. 3. Watch as cute fleshies get eaten!

Re: The Hydra - Mod Theme Contest Entry Wildlife
definitively, this thing could use someting to hunt... maybe you could use some of the code of the grappling gun to make some sort of hunting harpoon... it woud be twice as deadly...
and please fix the crashing error!!! (maybe making it dissapear when hit critically, or something like that)
otherwise, great!!! best defense system ever!!!
