Re: Phoenix VTOL fighter + AA armor
Pretty sure the AA tank is meant for AA and not for ground targets.

This is a awesome mod, but can you possibly add another fighter with a supercannon, and a variation of the buggy vehicle with the dual gatling guns?

Re: Phoenix VTOL fighter + AA armor
Quote: a variation of the buggy vehicle with the dual gatling guns? Awesome idea but what would you use the buggy to (gameplay wise). Travel time isn't really a problem in CC, but it would be awesome to drive enemies over. Something i have been thinking about instead is making small hovercraft like the manta from UT3. If you haven't tried it, it is a small open vehicle with a large propel on each side. The point of this gameplay wise would be that it could counter the Manticore (and maybe thunderfire) since that the only real way you can kill them otherwise in multiplayer (without burst tapping) is slowly pressing the frontline up to it until it meets a wall that it can't climb. The manta would be fast and could jump a lot more agile than your average (non jetpack tapping) soldier. It can dodge missiles and the pesky AA so that your friendly phoenix/dummy gunship/abdul's gunship (even though it is quite OP compared to the dummy gunship and my phoenix(it has about 3 times more health D:)) can bomb the crab out of the enemy.

Quote: To work as a mobile version of the turret, so you can move it to places that need it on the battlefield I just forget that possibility. I will properly make it within a few weeks (or days), but I will make water modules and the manta like vehicle as highest priority though.

Re: Phoenix VTOL fighter + AA armor
The vehicles are lovely but these helicopters fly so terribly unreal, you could modify it so that most closely resembles the recent "gunships" of Abdul Alhazred, please. oh, and with respect to the bombs, I think they need a makeover, there are very real, I think they are very small, perhaps doubling the size of the sprite would look better. one last thing ... when anti-aircraft turrets open fire, generate a lot of terrible lag, and appears to be cumulative ... the more fire their machine guns, the game stops more. except what I mentioned before, this mod is very nice.

The reason why i gave the phoenix's hovermode that much stability is because its easier to fly into your personal hangar and to limit the player to actually use it as a plane and not a helicopter. I can make the bombs bigger in the next version but is easy to just change them yourself (phoenix/weapons/Rocket.bmp). I don't why it should lag. I have tried a map with 15 turrets that just spray constantly without feeling any real lag. (my cortex command usually runs at 70 fps and in the map i mentioned before i got about 40)

I like the AA armor part best, my shitty flying tends to make the fighter go to fast and explode lol...
