Yeah... well you should play the game first because its actually called "Thermal Clip" in the game not "Thermal Mag". There is a reason too why it is called clip because they are not mags, just heat absorbing clips that ejects when they had too much then you gotta put another clip in.

Pokets should have said that though, not everyone actually played ME2.

Edit : As for the mod itself, it does looks like the same gun but resprited several time with minor changes... You should put in the SMGs, the pistols, the shotguns, the sniper rifles and the heavy weapons too.

thermal 'clips' don't make any more sense than thermal 'mags' do, and it's probably just a mild, intentional misnomer to make generic masses accept the idea more easily

the 'thermal clips' of mass effect are supposed to instantly capture the heat from firing (I believe the canon is that all guns are mass drivers and use tiny flecks of metal to prevent recoil / be easier to propel)

but the thing is, even if you had something that superconducted heat it wouldn't absorb enough of it to be worthwhile

basic thermodynamics, folks

so anyways, despite mbbird's erroneous statement, thermal 'clips' are still retarded.

if you've played ME2 just make the few ammo types you can change to: Warp, cryo, flame, disrupter, and you could even make concusive blast.

Not even going to call you that; You are hereby to be referred to as 'Pockets', because I refuse to spell out pzerokets in my head), I'd like to offer some constructive criticism, but it won't sound like what you want to hear. If you really want to capture the flavor of Mass Effect, -produce- something that isn't resprited basic bullet throwers. If you absolutely must, rip the sounds out of the game; Hell, some of the official DRL sounds came from UT2003/2004 as placeholders for the moment. Or better yet. Go to www.freesound.org, sign up for a free account, download sample material, then use any free sound editing suite to make your own gunshot sounds. Then, learn how to sprite and stop using a released-mods forum to beg for people to help build "your" mod for you. What you've got is good, but you've got it largely because you begged other people to do it for you. And regarding Lua, please read the Lua tutorials located in the Mod Making section. Cortex Command's *default* weapons have seeking Lua which you should study, not rip whole; CC has enough resprites and reskins.

Now... if you need someone to help you with the magic of FM synthesis mixing and wave-hammer wielding, in the sense of learning how to do it, I'll be your sound guy. As a teacher. Ask a spriter for help in learning how to sprite; Better yet, ask the guy that did your current sprites. They're fairly good, and faithful to ME as I remember it. Lua? Maybe one of the Lua gurus loose'll be able to help you, or I might lend you a hand once I'm a bit more fluent with it. I'm still picking it up, bit by bit.

Sorry if this isn't what you want to hear, but that's that. I've been playing CC since build 20; I'm hardly an oldbie, but I've been around long enough to grimace whenever I see Yet Another Bullet Hose With No Real Unique Charm, even if it does have a pretty sprite.

Well done MP!!! :grin: I am very impressed with this though others are not you had my Dl before you made this mod when you told me about it but i never thought it would be this good!

Selkit, you shouldn't be so hard on him. No, he is not a great moder like Cricket or TLB but he just wants what we all want,(good mods), and instead of being hard on him just give him a chance and help him out. :)
