Post Re: Dum-E *wip*
Dummy Elite: Grey dummy with a blue, more powerful jetpack. Also has a laser sight, but also has one that points directly opposite where the dummy is aiming. Huh?
Silenced UMP and Uzi are meh. Pew pew. Smoke grenade looks really neat, but has no practical value.

Pyro Dummy: Red dummy with an exploding propane tank jetpack. Better than the Dummy Elite, at least.
Dummy Death Sprayer is the Flamer Light with with the dropship engine flash for a muzzle flash. Burns a hole in concrete. Makes me want a flamethrower with that flash, but done much better. Dummy Death Coater lobs really heavy animated fireball projectiles. Rail Pistol II is an (even more so) OP Rail Pistol. Includes smoke grenade.
Smoke grenade remains best part of this mod.

Ordanace Dummie: Ordinance is spelled incorrectly. Is a dummy with a Coalition helmet.
Op Nade Launcher is aptly named. Fires a grenade at mach speed that explodes in a ground splintering explosion. Fuel-Air RPG...is ok. Doesn't pull of what it wants to perfectly, but it's the best weapon so far. Rail Pistol II and smoke grenade are also here.
Smoke grenade now tied with Fuel-Air RPG.

Heavy Dummy: Dummy with resprited Robot 1 legs (I think?) and a torso that is on dummy-steroids.
Dummy Test Railgun is OP and can easily go through the entire map several times over. With a wide spread. It also is full of glow. Also has a tendency to fire in a completely random direction than it is aimed in. Has happened several times to me. RPG-899 I like. Standard RPG. Grenade Machine Gun is OP and is what it says it is. At least it comes with a smoke grenade.

Technist: Dummy with blue sparks. Said something about becoming a brain but it doesn't do anything? Not in the brains menu, doesn't take over if the first brain is killed (which would be really cool, by the way). So it's just a dummy with blue sparks.
Dummy Stabilized Railgun is like the Dummy Test Railgun, but it doesn't spread, and seems to be aimable.
DACTS is an auto shotgun. Rail Pistol II and smoke grenade.

Now to go uninstall this mod.

... you know... I agree that the smoke grenade is the best thing on this mod... working on other junk for now... I wonder if I should still give life to this mod or if I should let it die...

Turn this into a Dummy Fortress 2 mod. Sprite better gfx for them. Devise weapons that are a mix of CC and TF2 ones. ???. PROFIT!

Okay, I'm testing this mod out. It looks kind of cool! But first I have a small rant to those who want to call everything a resprite just because it isn't revolutionary:

The majority of the community fails very much at realizing the difference between a decent mod, and a resprite. Does anyone even look at the word!? Resprite basically means it is repainted. This guy says he added code to it, meaning *Gasp* It isn't a resprite. He looks as though he spent over 30 minutes on this. It doesn't have to be a faction, or revolutionary to be a decent mod! Even if a resprite did come along... is it really worth fussing about? We get a single mod every 2-6 days! Be grateful when something comes along. it's like a store manager yelling at someone because they came twice in one day. Who cares![/rant]

Here is a suggestion, lose the faction, keep the smoke grenade.

Post Re: Dum-E *wip*
I tried these out and I liked the feel of it. Has various bugs though, so its still not perfect.

This was like an elite squad or a team "X special" mod that had a handful of units with special traits(and/or devices), the gameplay was similar like watching a Gundam Wing episode. You have these robots of satanic doom with massive fire power and you use it as a tactical strike team to blow the ♥♥♥♥ out of stuff and get jobs done. Its fun. Not a "balanced" mod I'll say, but a damn fun one.

Now the guns very pretty cool, but also buggy.
The test railgun had a tendency to fire all the plasma to the right no matter what and each time I tried firing to the left I got obliterated by the shot. Sometimes my brain was caught in the blast. Personally a weapon like that could use some more weights. As in drawbacks. Like make it charge much slower since its capable of annihiliating anything in its path and with a good shot, you can erase the whole scene with it. I did like the animation and the style of the gun. Real stress reliever final judgement cannon. :D

I loved to charge it up and then scream YAAAAAAAHHH as the massive blast fires from the gun, nuking the whole area to dust.

The other railgun was more reliable, you wouldnt want to fire it too close to anything. Also nice, but slightly buggy.

I also liked the knife gun, its simple, effective and stylish in its own way.
I didnt get the idea what the smoke grenade does, but the effects looked fabulous.
Rail pistol mk2 was good, could use an extra shot or two though.

Ahh, Gundam wing: good times, goood times...

Anyways, it seems interesting (the mod, that is), but not interesting enough for me to want to investigate. If it was innovating enough, THEN i'd DL it.

Well it seems that nearly everyone is downgrading this which isn't what I'm going to do, and I agree with pieman280.

Its not a resprite unless it is the exact same characters, just different colours. And the exact same guns. Yet he has MORE Characters than the original dummy faction and more if not different and better guns. And they are completely different. Therefore I decree that it is not a resprite and that even though it doesn't look good to everyone doesn't mean you shouldn't Download it and test it for yourself. He said it was a WIP right? meaning don't set your standards high, just like the whole of CC is a WIP. Yet its a good game, isn't it? I'm not saying its good, i'm also not saying its bad. What I'm saying is, that not everyone can be buggered to waste their time and give a great big description making something sound better than its not while its still a WIP. I wouldn't even know how to resprite anything. So to me, what ZevN47 has done is great. And if you don't want to DL it then don't, but don't insult him when he told you its a WIP.

Anyway, to the CONSTRUCTIVE Critiscism. I love the smoke grenade, but it could have more smoke coming out of it for a wider covereage and maybe if you make it (I dunno if u can use Lua to do it or if u cant do it) that it makes anything within it unseeable, like a real smoke grenade or anything past it that would be awsome. Also, I kinda dislike how the test railgun always shoots downwards. Make it a very large shake range so when it fires it fires randomly, not backwards downwards and through your underground base through your brain... XD. Also, I like your weapons, (I got no idea about spriting, I dunno what people mean when they say shading or whatever but the sprites are good in my books). I dunno if its just with the heavier dummy but for some of the weapons their reload times are a bit lengthy, although that is realistic. And otherwise, the only thing remaining is maybe make it so you can purchase the vanilla Dummies, and the weapons seperately as well as together.

P.S. The flamers too. Their shots are a bit ugly (no offence) and could do with a makeover

Hope all this has been constructive for you and I mean no offence to anyone. The last thing we need is fighting over a game. Yours truly, Denwa.

P.S.S Don't give up just because people don't like it. Not everyone likes everything (Except maybe me XD), listen but don't give up. After all, its better to have a front to test things with. So you test things you wanna try in your other mod in this one and hopefully get constructive feedback about it.

After seeing the code for the smoke grenade I understood what it was.
Its a distractor that is ment to make the enemy shoot at it or atleast aim at its direction.
It was using the code from the Ronin distractor device I made. Which spawns a teamless brain and an emitter to get the attention of actors nearby to notice it.

Post Re: Dum-E *wip*
Yes you are correct numgun. I'm working on making it my own sort of distractor device (using a different method so that they don't shoot at it but it still distracts them) the reason I wanted to make it like this is so that it would be more realistic in that it doesn't just spray sparkly glowy all over the place... I got the idea from modern smoke grenades... I'm working now on having it call in an airstrike, artilery strike, and bunker buster. (with blue, yellow, and green smoke)

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I think I won't let this die. As of right now I'm working on the smoke grenades and several weapons (think auto rail gun) as well as a craft and the several fixes you guys mentioned. I can sprite better pics but I think getting the code working is more important right now than making everything pretty.

Expect the next update with all the fixes in about... 3 days(non data time) or less.

Yes, coding is more important. And I'm glad your not giving up on it, because its better than anything I could do yet. (Emphasis on the Yet.) The more mods out there the better but because people are getting negative comments on their mods they're scrapping them instead of continuing on and improving their skills. Not everyone is born a natural genius (Like me). All I need really is to investigate and test my skills, then see how I can improve them. I am a really basic beginner.

I'm glad you're continuing this. After some testing, the Smoke grenade is awesome, the laser sights are glitchy (They vaporized the grass), and the test rail would be awesome if it didn't kill me. :P I love how the pyro will explode. This is a good mod, but clearly a WIP.

I can't wait to see it finished. How about a dummy sargeant? or another type of dreadnought, or Acrab.

@ Denwa: You can start your modding by making me one of those soldiers you have in your avatar. That guy would look awesome in CC!

*cough* in the works *cough* *cough* would be a Dred*cough*naught*cough* to end all*dreadnoughts*cough.

Alright my allergies have cleared up so a little list of what I'm working on:

Laser sights - I want to keep them as lawnmowers because you can distract the enemy actors with them... however I am trying to fix the it goes both ways problem... I may resort to lua *gasp*
Sniper(more power less terrain rape)
The Rail guns done (not uploaded until the rest are done)
New dummy dreadnought (I call him the quantum dummy if you want to speculate what THAT means)
Dummy Cannon (basically a plasma cannon... a very slow moving blob of plasma is fired out of it)
Various other things TBA I'll not announce what I haven't decided to make yet... also I'm making a scene called Dummy-day (D-Day for short) in which you are attacking the heavily armed and armored coalition forces at their own lair... well I might release it and if I do it won't be for a few weeks at the least... (data time)

@ZevN47 and mod: Sounds like this could prove to be quite an interesting mod. You could always add modules fit for dummy actors too. Unique. Particularly a big hanger, there are hardly any modules out there and no one has made a hanger that can actually fit the coalition dropship inside it  . Even some craft.... like a starwars droid lander, thats made for spamming droids (in this case Dummies). Something that looks kewl, as well as nifty and complicated. e.g. (Doubt its possible) But a ship with the sprites of the actors etc. inside, and they disappear when they're dropped? And some turrets, maybe even a flashbang grenade that blinds the screen??? and incendiary grenades too? Although they have been made alot if you used your smoke idea and made the smoke smaller and flames that damage it would be good. Cause it would last for a short while and damage the air too. Others just burn on the ground don't they.

@pieman280: I would but I am a complete sucker when it comes to spriting, particularly on actors but It'll be on my to-do List for my mod that I want to make (Actually started for once :0). I'm still new to the whole .ini stuff and Lua's outta my league for now. I'll fiddle with already made stuff but that'll be it. Still, alot I can do with it. But i'll try my best and maybe even come up with a WIP

Well your idea for a drone pod thing is possible I'm making a custom drop crate (for the lolz)

Also I'm a line of custom dreadnoughts so that should be easy enough.

As for the ship that shows the actors I'm sure its possible but I don't think I could do it... maybe with some lua but I don't know
