Re: Gravity guns WIP
You're...complaining? about the originality of someone making a gravity gun.
Holy ♥♥♥♥ you are hilarious bro.
G'head and take it up with Valve, I'm sure they care. Besides, this is a Lua weapon, probably the most capable one we've yet had. Still not perfect, but getting there.

Re: Gravity guns WIP
I am just asking, how is it different from the gravity gun form Solace Inc.

Re: Gravity guns WIP
That uses neg mass particles or something, a fairly laggy method.
This uses lua grav code, which is less laggy, but still laggy.

Re: Gravity guns WIP
Updated the OP with a gif of the vortex. It might rape your internets though since it's a tad big. No gif on the seeker thingy because I'm doing a lock-on thing for it and it doesn't really work yet. I've also increased the lifetime of the vortex by making it not suck itself. It lasts about 10 seconds now. After I'm done with the seeker, I thought I'd do an explosives-shooting cannon that shoots explosives which stick to actors and blow up after a few seconds.

Re: Gravity guns WIP
Headless zomborg + vortex gun = blood tornado. Can't wait 'till build 23... LUA goodness. Be cool if we could have a community LUA compilation thing to create functions like this... simple radius explosions... (locate objects in X radius, apply to them Y force divided by (distance equation) in Z direction) EDIT: Another suggestion, a vortex gun that makes everything a small radius from the center disappear? That'd reduce lag a lot without reducing the awesomeness. Bonus points if it can explode all the parts it sucked up when it runs out.

Re: Lua Guns
Kay, finally got the lock-on to work. Changed the seeker cannon to a missile swarm launcher.

Real vortex! Homing missles! They're finally here!!!
Would they be functional even in skirmish once B23 comes out?

Nevermind, and the Sticky Bomb has a lot to be desired, like stickiness, and exploding when commanded to.

Would they be functional even in skirmish once B23 comes out? Hell yes, the code can be implemented straigth onto the weapons in B23. Any wierd Lua thing you might have seen so far will be possible to have anywhere you want in the next build.

Foa wrote: Nevermind, and the Sticky Bomb has a lot to be desired, like stickiness, and exploding when commanded to. Whoops, did I forgot it there? It doesn't really work because there's no luascript for it. I scrapped that because I couldn't think of a way to do proper stickyness.

Would they be functional even in skirmish once B23 comes out? We've actually had homing missiles for ages.

Re: Lua Guns
Yeah, but they homed in on everyone or caused a loss. These ones home in on the enemy without causing a loss.
